I haven't watched enough of Malen to know about him but it sounds like he's a versatile player of sorts.

Even if that's not the case, am guessing Dortmund's plan is to have Malen as an understudy to Haaland for a season and then take over next year. Otherwise, seems risky to have an unproven, young player come in and be the main man immediately from a sporting perspective.

This won't be a popular choice but Dembele played his best football under Tuchel and our medical team are quite good so I think its worth taking a shot at him. We lack his directness in our wings and he could be an answer against teams that park it like Villa.

they often are busts in the EPL

and look at who his agent is

 

there us a reason all of the following fairly big names just sit in the Dutch league year after year, despite often huge numbers or big reps there

they are simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH for the big boy leagues

look at Ziyech so far, look at Tadic (reverse), look at Haller (reverse)

To be fair, I can remember how hard it was negotiating with them for Sarri and Jorginho. Make them taste some medicine for a bit (although ultimately we could do with moving Emerson on).

We don’t really know how Thiago Silva will be able to navigate another long season at his age and he got injured several times last season. Selling Zouma seems foolish unless another CB is brought in.

Despite his flaws, Zouma is still a useful player to have against specific teams.
