Chelsea are looking to add a striker, winger, midfielder and defender to their squad this summer.

Some names under consideration are:

▪︎ Liam Delap
▪︎ Jesus Rodriguez
▪︎ Jorrel Hato
▪︎ Dean Huijsen

(via@Simon Jones)

Don't know about Jesus Rodriguez but other 3 are good youngsters. Also, would love Morgan Rogers. Should have swapped Maatsen for Rogers last summer instead of buying a total unknown in Omari Kellyman. He'd go straight into the XI here as one of the attacking mids.

🚨 New: Enzo Maresca insists he still has "unwavering support" from Chelsea's owners + sporting directors.

😒😒🤮🤮

Enzo Maresca admits Chelsea will miss out on Champions League if two stars Palmer & Jackson don't improve.

"In the last two years, Chelsea have
been ZERO times in the top four, top
five. We've spent all season in the
Champions League spots. We are in a
semi-final of a European competition
Why now do we need to change
something? I don't have any doubts
about what We are doing. in the Way We
are doing it.'

Chelsea make new agent contact for Dutch international centre back Dean Huijsen

The Chelsea centre back situation is heating up right now and The Blues are putting the work in on a number of targets.

We exclusively reported a couple of months back that Chelsea were now interested in this Dutch centre back, and fresh contacts have now been made.

Trevoh Chalobah is still likely to be sold by Chelsea this summer, and there are of course concerns over the long term fitness of Wesley Fofana. Renato Veiga is another player who will be available this summer at the right price, so Chelsea’s decision makers will definitely be looking to bring in at least one new centre back, and potentially even two if Veiga does go.

Chelsea have been speaking to the people of Dean Huijsen of Bournemouth for a few weeks now and continue to push. He is now likely to stay in the Premier League but it is Liverpool at the moment that look like the most likely destination.

I’ve spoken to Liverpool sources, and they are adamant that the club are in pole position to land Huijsen this summer.

However, after speaking with SPTC sources, we are ensured that no decision has been made by the player yet and communications are ongoing.

The new info from sources is that Chelsea are also turning attentions to a player who they feel could replace Veiga as well as fill a centre back slot due to his versatility.

I wouldn't trust an article mentioning the wrong national team even with him clearly wearing a Spanish jersey in the picture too.

I know his background, but he's a Spanish international.

It's like saying Grealish & Rice are Irish internationals because of their heritage & having played youth football for Ireland. To me, it's misinformation and sloppy journalism.

non sequitur

Rice (Kingston upon Thames) and Grealish (Birmingham) were both born in England, whereas Huijsen was born in The Netherlands and also is of Dutch descent.

I read the 'Dutch' part of the headline as referring to his birth background and his descent.

Costa, Jorginho, etc.

I could write an entire list of players that fall into a similar category. Either way, I still believe it's poorly written. An accurate headline would be - Dutch born Spanish international.

🚨@FabrizioRomano on Maresca’s future at Chelsea:

“I’m not having any kind of message on Chelsea planning to replace the coach or go for another coach.”

🚨Maresca is involved in all the conversations for the summer signings, for the summer targets and for players who will leave Chelsea in the summer. — Maresca is FULLY involved.

Losing at home to Legia was not a good night but when you are 3-0 up and focused on Champions League spot with some players not in the best moment, it can happen these kind of games. Chelsea are convinced on Maresca.😡😡😡😡

‼️ At least four clubs have already announced their willingness to pay Dean Huijsen's €58 million buyout clause – Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Manchester United.

IIRC there were reports near the final game of last season that Boehly and the directors were going to go over summer transfers with Poch to strengthen the team. Next thing we knew Poch came out saying he doesn’t know if he’ll be here next season.

Club will feed the media anything.
