For any reasonably good player not just him. Let’s be real, why would anyone half decent want to come here when things are this bad? And throwing another £150-200m at young u21 players again this summer is going to do fuck all to fix the problems we have running from top to bottom of the club. This summer window is going to be brutal in all honesty. No longer got that safety from previous seasons with the older regime where we would have still attracted top top players & top top managers. Or that optimism like the first 2 windows when Boehly & Clearlake came in. Completely different now. This group and managers already written off and any chance of even slightly reversing a wee bit of this is going to take a lot of work. Yeah, last summer was probably our last chance and we fucked up. I still don't understand what they are trying to do, they aren't targeting top echelon youngsters neither going for ready made top players, simply buying whatever and hope they turn good. There have been reports doing the rounds of several top teams scouting Varela, including Manchester City, but for now my understanding is that it is just normal scouting activity, and nothing more advanced than that. Many clubs are sending scouts to follow the 22-year-old midfielder as he’s been excellent for Porto in the recent months. I’m also told he has €70m release clause into his contract, and we know how difficult is to negotiate with Portuguese clubs, so this could be a difficult deal if any suitors come forward in the summer. This season in 36 games so far we have already scored 64 goals and conceded 49. So in 14 games less we scored 14 goals more. This is huge difference. But with 13 PL games left and one more at least in Cup it is clear we will concede more than last season. So imo defense has not been good at all even last season but this season it is even worse. But by the look of it Poch improved our attack and this is still with Nkunku out for most of the season. Last season best goalscorers had: 9, 9, 4, 3 goals. This season they are on: 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 4. So much better and like I said still plenty games to play.

No thanks. Won sporting their first title in 19 years , top of the league again currently, knocked top of the table arsenal out of Europe. It’s a gamble given age and inexperience but he’s probably decent Blue Armour, Reddish-Blue and Norfolkblue1961 2
