£25m fee for our best CB last season? Fuck me. And if hes up for sale does that means that either Maresca and/or the club think both Disasi and Tosin are better players? Double fuck me.

Spent the whole of last season getting battered at the back and playing toothless in attack.

Incomings: Tosin and Guiu

👏

TBF, we can't use the manager as an excuse then demand better players, if the reports are true and we worked on zero tactics just hard work, no wonder we got battered in the back and toothless in attack. And to add to that, no tactics just hard work and we still nearly got top 4 with a bunch of players this forums believes are mid table worthy... So either the manager was that bad that the players dragged us on, or the players are that bad poch did a good job, can't be both

Best CB Chalobah? 🤣

Of 51 games in the season he started just 13. So basically played just 25% of the games. In those 13 games we conceded 17 goals and had just 3 clean sheets. Against City and Liverpool he was introduced from the bench with 20 and 8 mins and we conceded only when he stepped on the pitch. Was never more than 4th or 5th option. Tomori and Guehi also academy players are like 5 times better players and nobody cares about them and btw I don't think they are good enough either. Crazy what some fans are doing. Probably same people who were crying for months about possibility of Mount leaving.

It's amazing how embarrassing our fan base has become since we lost our sugar daddy.

Chalobah should be sold but £25m seems extremely low. In an era where random, unknown teenagers are going for that amount or more I feel like we should be asking around £35m for an established PL CB. One who’s only 25 and homegrown. Especially if we’re going to sell him to a club we’re competing against.

If he isn't our best CB he is 2nd after Colwill, Disasi and Badiashile are a joke, Tosin remains to be seen but doubt he is that good. Fofana waiting for see if he can play 2 full games before we're talking but he is probably perma wrecked.

And for the record I don't even rate Chalobah wanted him out for a long time but the situation right now is so bad he is probably the least worst out of a bunch.

If we get Samu who is a worse player, doubt we will ever see Guiu wear the shirt in an official match.

It has become a thing for people to hate on Disasi, but he was played most of our games last year and has better numbers than Trev. I’m not saying Disasi is all that, but Trev has not been better in the limited time he played.

Both are poor for a top club but Disasi played most because he was our only injury free CB, Chalobah came from injury and needed minutes to get into rhythm, as soon as that happened Disasi was left in the dust.

TBH, both the players and manager were bang average last season. We only made top 4 because of a certain Cold Palmer and the increasing good form of a few players such as Caicedo and Jackson.

This transfer window didnt need any more average players or another 3+ unproven teenage talents come through the door. It needed 1 top CB, 1 top Striker, 1 top GK and we could have even waited for another winger and concentrated on developing the wingers we have already.

But that won't happen now, clubs not buying these "top" players every transfer window is the same and yet no one is getting the fact that isn't happening anymore, and we didn't need a top striker or a top CB, what we need is guidance and a clear way to defend and attack, we can't keep buying playing to fill a gap that won't fit the system any more doesn't work. Jackson got 14 goals in his first season, Palmer was immense caicedo finally started to click, we have fofana Reece nkunku and lavia coming back into the squad that's like 4 new signings there alone! What ever happend to giving a player a season to settle into a new league and a new culture? Or is it only Chelsea fans that believe that isn't a thing anymore.

Without info on whether the matches are really comparable, it's not really that useful comparison IMO.

The issue is mostly about pace: Disasi is very slow and pretty average on the ball; while Trev has much more pace, even if he's just as average on the ball.

Disasi is the worst by far because he forces a low block and he only did well when Poch lowered the lines towards the end of the season. Reckon Maresca won't be doing that tho.
