So we still aren't addressing the striker issue then

Well, Jackson did show some real improvements towards the end of last season. For sure, if you can get Alverez to come in and be CF1 then sure, get him (I may rate Alverez too high - I am quite partial to his style of play). There is also an arguement to consider a older CF who is experienced - say Callum Wilson - who isn't a world beater by any strech but can score in the PL that arguments can be made for.

However, if the options are Duran or the kid from Atleti. I prefer to go for something like this where it is cheap and the manager is on board and give Jackson another season as the CF1. If he gets injured then the kid will get a chance and at worst we have Nkunku and Palmer who can play False 9.

Been wondering what has held teams back from picking him up?

He seems to be the 2nd or 3rd name on most shortlists for strikers. But no one has had the confidence to make a move for him yet even at that price

You also have to think about other clubs current striking options.  United are after Zirkzee, Arsenal were close on Sesko before he signed the new deal, Spurs/us are sort of in the same position where we don't have an out and out finisher up front but there is quality in the attack.

If Guarassy does indeed go to Arse he’s going to bag a lot goals. He or David would be the ideal striker signing for us. Would be super annoying if both end up elsewhere in the PL while we sign a couple of teenagers.

Entering the season with Jackson & a teenager from Barca who will have never played at this level would be madness.

#Juventus : #BolognaFC & Bianconeri leaders are currently finalizing an agreement about Riccardo Calafiori between €40m & €50m. #Bologna see his departure as a formality and have already targeted several profiles to replace him.

Never considered as a serious option even as backup. Loan at best

Monaco are going to be balling with the biggest boys now.

Every Saudi take over is a good opportunity to flog some expensive stuff. Maybe we can get them to take on Sterling...

It feels like Guiu could very well be using us to get a contract more to his liking at Barca (which probably includes guaranteed playing time).

Yep. Instantly thought that was the case when I saw that “it’s not all agreed just yet.” He wants Barca to show that they really want to keep him so he’s suing us to get that.

This’ll be yet another thing in recent weeks that Fabrizio will have been wrong on. It’s unlike him to be this unreliable. His desire to get scoops first to uphold his image is getting in the way of getting things correct first and foremost.

I don't really buy this idea that Conte is desperate to get Lukaku. Osimhen is already his perfect striker, perhaps even more suited to his style of play than Lukaku, at a better age and without all the problems Romelu brings.

Conte might back himself to get value out of Lukaku for a year or two, but I'm sure it wouldn't be his ideal setup. Much bigger risk than just continuing with Osimhen, and Conte very much likes a sure thing because he is a winner first and foremost.
