Pizy 18,903
Jeez. From interest revealed out of absolutely nowhere to done deal within literal hours. For a £45m deal between PL Big 6 rivals. That’s completely unheard of dealing. Have to say now that the last missing piece that this squad needs is an experienced, reliable #9. Depending on how Jackson and Broja perform until January that’ll probably be Ivan Toney. Nero
Mhsc 1,097
23 minutes ago, whats happening said: so we are not buying a striker in the end? Cole Palmer is a Kai-esque half 9. I think he will play there if we lose NJ, until we sign someone else in Jan or next summer. Feels like maybe the last big money signing when the right opportunity comes up. DH1988 1,348
Really, Palmer. Hope to be wrong but Jesus that is a.. real odd one. I always ask myself when big club to club transfers take place, within circumstance, why are they letting him go?

Maybe Man City have FFP issues as well, combined with the player being disgruntled for not playing enough? I've heard people suggest that when you combine transfer fees, agent fees, wages and bonuses that should be obtainable the Harland transfer is probably the most expensive transfer of all time. So perhaps it's no coincidence that Man City are selling Palmer at the same time that they are purchasing Nunes from Wolves. Hamilton 2,120
Again a youngster with very little experience, but huge potential probably. Now I’m curious if our business is done or will we add at least a experienced proven player??

Only exception has been Bernardo Silva in recent years Stats

This will be amazing for their FFP as he's an academy player too, virtually the same player buying / sales model we've been using. City is one club I have no problems buying from personally. They have elite players everywhere and very good players can end up wanting to leave. We've been in the same situation ourselves at our peak, back in time. The inbred cunts over there on Bluemoon seem to have a consensus Palmer is getting £150K a week on an 8 year deal from Chelsea compared to just £10K/wk he was on at City. 😂 No doubt he's due a big raise over his current salary but whoever believes he's getting 15x his previous wage is dumb as a rock. The biggest issue i see is that it looks like Pep did not rate him or wasen't convinced he could take over for Mahrez. Given their signing of Doku, it seems to be a possiblity. I am skeptical but doesn't mean he will be a bust. Hoping for best case scenario.

But he was the most expensive goalkeeper in the world at the time (and still is) so I'm sure him and his agent sensed their chance to negotiate an outrageous contract. Palmer is a kid who has a lot of potential but who hasn't shown anything in his career yet. From all the signings we've made in January and this summer I would think only Enzo, Caicedo and Nkunku are earning more than £150K a week and the lest on considerably less than that. Do you really think Palmer belongs in the upper salary bracket with the other three and not with the likes of Gusto, Madueke, Jackson etc.?
