Jype 6,398
I don't see how Brighton can claim the transfer fee for Rice as any kind of benchmark for Caicedo. Rice is much more experienced at the top level (+200 PL games for Rice vs 45 for Caicedo) and not to mention Rice being a HG player with the infamous English tax included in the price. If Rice goes for £105M then I'd say £75-85M for Caicedo is fair enough. Vesper
Pizy 18,903
If Caicedo were to go on and have another top season just like the one he just had I could put my hands up and say fair play to them for demanding Rice money next summer. He’ll then have proven that he didn’t just have a freak season and then revert back to a lesser level. But on no planet is he worth that after 1 great season. He isn’t Enzo Fernandez who has world class ability on the ball and starred at the World Cup. This isn’t Declan Rice who has been playing at a high level for several years in the PL. This isn’t a generational talent like Bellingham. We should put a take it or leave it offer of £75m + £5-10m in add ons in and if they say no, move on and target a couple of other midfielders. Brighton are risking really pissing him off if they price him out of two huge moves in successive transfer windows. kexik
ZAPHOD2319 4,815
There has been a different training group made to keep some players away from the players that will be in the first team this year. DH1988 and Vesper

Probably a good idea to separate them. The likes of Lukaku, Aubameyang, Pulisic, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, Ampadu and Sarr are halfway through the door already and never going to be a part of the squad this season so having them around is just an unnecessary distraction. The primary training group is already large enough as it is with plenty of the youngsters being kept around to show Poch what they're made of before deciding who to keep and who to loan out. Mário César 1,252
I don't know why but I have a feeling this is going to be the biggest mistake of Mount's career I really think only kovacic will be happy with the change of club because even havertz i don't think will do as well as arsenal fans think Edited July 6, 2023 by Mário César
xPetrCechx 13,570
Buy a decent GK. Buy 2 midfielders (Brighton can f*ck off for 100mil). Bring back Felix. Sell Cucurella, Ampadu, Baba Rahman, Sarr, Auba, Pulisic, Ziyech, CHO, Lukaku. Buy a good goalscorer. Buy a backup Full-back (instead of Azpi/Cucu). Manu Kone and Khephran Thuram for a combined 80mn 3. Would love it if its for around 40mn or a year long loan with an option to buy. Also wouldnt mind Cherki or Dybala for 10mn 4. Hell yes, especially Cucu if we can flog him to athletico or newcastle 5. Vlahovic - I am sold on him 6. Not required - Maatsen, Chilly, Hall on left. Reece and Gusto on right

He couldn’t have just become a shit player overnight. There’s a very good player in there and we should give him a chance.
Duppy Conqueror 1,534
Brighton overplaying their hand, thinking it worked with Cucurella it'll work this time. Other clubs have turned away and left us to it because we were talking around 70m. Sure i want the guy to join us but DM/defensively capable CM's are the deepest positions in this window. Whoever is dealing with negotiations needs to make a final offer and say, take it or leave it. We don't need this dragging on because Brighton keeps moving the goalposts, from the sounds of things. Or there's a fairly average player there who was bought off the back of their standout season that they may struggle to replicate again. We've just seen ourselves Mendy head down a similar trajectory. Blue Armour and Reddish-Blue 1
Clockwork 1,794
Florentino Luís from Benfica we have not been linked but a player linked to Pool, Barca, United, etc. Lets reunite him with Enzo. There are other options beside Caicedo, but we keep wasting our time if Brighton keep moving the post.
