In just two years, Clearlake quadrupled its assets under management to about $72 billion as of May 2022, since its predecessor flagship fund closed in May 2020. I would not be shocked at all to see their May 2023 report show well over 100 billion USD under management now, as they shorted the hell out of the stock market right before it started to crash and burn last year and also bought up distressed assets at pennies on the pound (well on the dollar, lol). I like Conor and think he’ll be a solid PL midfielder for 10 years but he’s not the top class players we had all hoped he’d become. Would be sensational business if the club can get £45-50m for a player who struggles for minutes and probably doesn’t get any minutes when all our midfielders are fit. £50m? We’re never going to get an offer as good as £40m upfront + 5m add ons for him ever again FFS unless he plays every game and turns into some sort of very good player in the second half of the season 😂 Just sell him for that, would be a very very good deal for us. Plus we have an overbloated squad as it is, trying to get another £5m for someone who isn’t ready to play at this level or been regular here is just asking for trouble when you take into consideration he came through the academy too so its not like we aren’t making a huge profit. Asking for more just risks Everton walking away. I don’t think anybody would pay £50m for Connor. Mhsc 1,102
£45m for Gallagher would be good business, throw in a buy back clause at £75m just in case. OneMoSalah

Pizy 18,962
So that’s now all the reliable journalists connected with Chelsea and with Benfica saying a mega, €100m+ offer has been officially submitted after Ornstein just tweeted. We’ve done everything we can do on our side at this point. We really want the move, player really wants the move, now up to Benfica. Whatever happens now we can’t be upset with the club. They’ve pushed as hard as they could. kexik

Yeah, in some way I agree with you however we would be left with Enzo, new DM, Kovacic (injury prone, won't be better), Kante (finished) and bunch of unproven youngsters (Hall, Chukwumueka, Casadei, Santos, Webster etc). We would still need more depth if we want to play 3 in the middle. Unless Mount will learn how properly play as midfielder.
