now you are just being silly

Lamptey is NOT a winger and is the shortest player in the EPL (5 foot 3) and is also not even renewing so far (The Sun flat out lied, which is par for the course) and may walk on a free in a few months to PSG or Nice

Report: Chelsea youngster Tariq Lamptey could be on his way out

https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/club-news/report-chelsea-youngster-tariq-lamptey-could-be-on-his-way-out/

Nope Lamptey could play all position on the right side: RB, RWB, and RW.

I refuse to continue this ridiculous colloquy

Lamptey is NOT going to be a main winger for us if Willian leaves on a free

it is madness to think this

you clearly are taking the piss m8

Nah i'm not, Pulisic and Sancho would be a starter while CHO and Lamptey as back up.

James Rodriguez out of the squad again even with Hazard, Asensio, Valverde, Ramos out injured or suspended. Why are we not after him is beyond me. 6 months on loan. But I guess he don't have most important attributes for AM pressing and running  he only offers creativity, but who needs that? Especially from attacking midfielder?

He would only be a Short Term Solution but I would loan him out til RLC is fit again

I said loan for the rest of the season. Of course short term which is exactly what we need at the moment in our fight for top4. Also when I think about it he never based his game on pace so I think 28 or 32 he'll be the same player. Not suggesting we should buy him permanently. Just observation. And you can't loan player for only a month 😂

I would loan him out for 6 months and play him until RLC is fully fit and bench him afterwards. That is what I meant. Maybe also use him against the low Level Teams

there’s a reason he’s not in their squad even with so many injuries... He’s finished and would be a disaster in the PL with his severe lack of pace...

Last season he had 7 goals and 4 assists in 1140 minutes in Bundesliga which is less than 13 games. He has better end product than any of our players. Does David Silva have pace? Or Mata two times POTY in Chelsea? And he's definitely not finished. Or you think Mount and Barkley are better?

Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard had respectable numbers during 12/13 but it was pretty clear to anyone who saw them that they were finished as top level players.

Arsenal dealt transfer blow as PSG boss ‘needs’ Kurzawa

https://www.football365.com/news/arsenal-psg-layvin-kurzawa-transfer-blow

Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa as Thomas Tuchel insists he “needs him” in the squad.

Mikel Arteta was hoping to seal the defender’s signature this month for a deal reported at around £6million.

Arsenal were initally looking to sign Kurzawa in the summer, when his contract at PSG runs out, but Tuchel has since expressed his desire to keep the left-back as part of his plans.

The German boss said: “I haven’t spoken with Layvin or anyone else about his departure this winter.

“Layvin is number two behind [Juan] Bernat in the left-back position.

“We need him and Layvin will play [Sunday] against Lorient. He has played well recently.”

As I've documented I have my doubts about Telles but it's getting to the point I'll take him so I can have peace of mind knowing we won't be signing Chilwell. Don't think I've been so against a possible signing since Rooney in 2013.

With the relitevely low apparent price tag he (Telles) won't be that hard to shift if he flops.

I agree. I don't think Chilwell is a terrible player. I think he's a pretty good player and he's still very young and should continue to develop and improve. His recent form has been pretty dreadful but has also coincided with Leicester's loss of form and is no different to some of our younger players going through a period of inconsistency this season.

The biggest worry I have with Chilwell is how much are we paying for the quality he's already proven and how much for potential? If he was £40 - 50m I wouldn't have much of a problem. But £70 - 80m gives you absolutely no leeway to get this wrong in this position. Much like we're seeing now with Kepa where we identified a player we thought had huge potential but ended up overpaying to get him; now he's not yet realising that potential we have to persevere with him and hope he continues to improve because we'll never recoup anywhere near the fee we paid out because Kepa hasn't proven enough yet to justify such a fee. Chilwell, for me, is in the same bracket.

Gosens and Telles (or Gosens and Grimaldo if that helps assuage some Telles non fans) FTW.

SELL THE PANTS ALONSO AND EMERSON (first try to swap Emerson for Gosens NOW.)

Azpi at LB is a fucking joke. On us.

If we pay £80m for Chillwell and sign him to a 7 year contract at £150K PW, he will cost us £135m overall. Add that to Kepa's full cost of £142m, and that is £277m over 7 years cumulative cost for just TWO players in the 2 lowest priced positions overall: fullback and GK.

FFP? Wot
