Lampard is too smart to give anything away.

He'll never name names but that's what I mean about clever questions. Maybe we can learn what specific areas of the team he and the club are looking at. I doubt it, but worth a try.

We already know that. He said we need to replace Eden's goals, assists and creativity. Our purchase of Dembele is real. Also what we do in January will determine what we'll do in the summer.

If we don't sign LB now it's quite clear we wait for Chilwell /Alaba who'll be available in the summer. Same for winger. No Zaha or other winger now means we wait for Sancho. Also signing Dembele means bye bye Werner.

I think it's what we all expect.

Lampard has already stressed the need to be more clinical in attack so an offensive player is clearly on his wishlist and his contact changing at left back also has to be taken as an indicator that he's not happy there either.

Bakayoko /Drinkwater level signing. What the fuck is wrong with this club??? How can someone with two brain cells think this is good idea!?

It's only on loan. He hasn't been great but could at least give us options till the summer and then we go for the big targets.

lemar? ewww even on loan wouldn't want him... for what, so that he can take minutes away from development of CHO, pulisic and mount and then leave in the summer? Is he even better than pedro in any case? I don't think so... would be a horrible signing

On loan according to the article.

I would far rather we take a risk with something like this on loan and gives us chance to assess properly in the summer than just buying a third or fourth choice simply because they're available now. We've made too many mistakes along similar lines in recent years.

I agree. But still with CHO, Pulisic and Willian here he'll basically be just Pedro's replacement and won't play much.

It completely depends on if Lampard fancies having him. If he does then I'm fine with it because it probably means that Chelsea will allow Pedro to leave and still keep us with 4 wide players. At the moment Lampard clearly doesn't fancy Pedro and it's stretching our options with just 3 wide players. You ideally need 4 to be able to rotate and have attacking options on the bench that the manager trusts to use when the first choice ones aren't working out.

The alternative would probably be to drop £80m on Zaha this January and then not be in the race for Sancho in the summer. This way we suddenly open our options up for the summer - we could still buy Zaha, we could make a move for Sancho or we could even look to buy Lemar if he blew up.

It makes a lot of sense as a cheap, risk free way to freshen things up a little. January is such a difficult time to make key signings and that's exactly what we need to do to add to the talented group of young talent we have.

I think Pedro's lack of minutes is down to Lampard's lack of faith in him rather than necessarily being '4th choice' wide man.

It's key that Lampard wants this deal or at the very least considers it a compromise for getting his first choice in the summer, whilst still being an improvement on Pedro.

If that's not the case, I would agree he won't play much and it would be a bit pointless apart from a way to allow Pedro to leave this month.

hey if Lmaps wants him, that's good enough for me (even if I don't think he will help us in any substantial way, I obviously trust Lamps' judgement more than mine when it comes to players)

but if it's a club signing that lamps has no particular interest in, then it's ridiculous as this guy has been a total dud... Freshen up the squad, fine, but don't try freshening it up with a players who has looked horrible for months and months, that doesn't make sense to me...

Whatever happens, I hope Lamps is calling the shots and if that's the case, we'll live with wtvr he decides and hope it works out for the best

I'm sure this is the case. And I'm pretty sure what will happen. Lemar will play a little and won't show anything. Nobody will remember he ever played for Chelsea and will be sent back to Atletico. In the summer we'll get our boy :cig:
