I don't think this is the case. At his stage of the career, he will be seriously considering playing week in and week out for Palace to make a case for the national team like Guehi who left when he was 20 or 21

Guehi was rejected and sold after a successful loan.not really worth comparing..Acheampong is playing more now.

I'd prefer Neves out of the three

Ngolo Kante all day all night anytime instead of these boring tattoed bearded clowns.

I don't know how is he doing these days(on 2024 Euros he was pretty good) but I would be super happy to watch Kante even just walk around the field.

Essugo out for month after slipping in training

Lavia version 2

Wtf!!!!!!

This is insanity!!

If our buys (and our players in general) keep becoming glassmen at the rate currently happening, it will destroy the club.

Thing with Kante is that I’m not sure he’d be open to a 6 month loan. He’s just about to turn 35 in a month and a half and will probably want one final multi-year contract with big wages before his career is finished.

Don’t really see the benefit from his POV in coming back here for such a short stint as much as I’d like to see it.

Well, he never retired from French NT but he has not been a frequent squad member recent years. After the 2024 Euros, he was not selected until 2025 November WC-qualifiers. If he wants to play in the World Cup then featuring in the Premier League will definetly boost his chances.

🚫🔵AC Milan and Mike Maignan reach verbal agreement over new deal until June 2031!

Formal steps to follow but deal in place for French GK who was out of contract in June 2026.

Huge move for Milan with Maignan seen as key player.

kante is needed not only for the pitch but also for a little bit of leadership and as a locker room presence.

35 yo Kante would be a bad idea. The league is a lot tougher than when he was dominating it.

We can sign someone in their prime and still get leadership, locker room presence.

He definitely wouldn’t be the same player he was when we had him, you’re right. But he wouldn’t be asked to cover every blade of grass like he was last time since Caicedo would be next to him.

Said before it reminds me of the Xavi Simons pursuit where we kept throwing in bids well below what the other club asked for, they held firm, and then the player goes elsewhere.

That ended up working out for us so far as Xavi has been a bust. But if we end up with nobody here and have to depend on Badiashile and Tosin to play significant roles the rest of the season I think we’re asking for trouble.

This is weird imo. I’d have kept Anselmino there to keep developing and if either were going to be recalled here between he and Sarr I’d have thought Sarr made much more sense as he worked under Rosenoir already. Maybe didn’t want to piss Strasbourg off even more than we have already?

Still, with Badiashile, Tosin, and Josh still here it seems pretty pointless to bring Anselmino back. When does he play? He surely gets more minutes over the next 6 months at Dortmund.
