I love Enzo’s personality, his warrior attitude, and I don’t want to sell him. But out of all of our “big” players he’s definitely the most expendable.

Not sure I agree, he and Caicedo are the only players we have that are reliably playing at an elite level, they have high ceilings and high floors, they stay fit and they are getting visibly better in front of our eyes all the time.

Our squad would be totally busted without either.

I say it will be Jérémy Jacquet from Rennes!

agree

or, if it is a left-footed CB, then Karim Coulibaly from Werder Bremen, as Honest Ahanor does not turn 18yo until February

I just do not see Guehi happening (I so hope I am wrong)

At his best he’s a fantastic player for sure. But he’s also a total liability in transition and defensively. Situations he’ll constantly be put into in this league. Having someone with great mobility in there instead of him would make us a better team I feel but it has to be someone of high quality like Wharton. Would’ve said Baleba as well but I haven’t really heard his name at all this season after he was awesome last year.

When Palmer is finally fully fit again I don’t see how we can play him and Enzo together and get the absolute best out of each. It would leave Moi and the defense too exposed against any decent team.

Enzo playing the false 10 and Palmer at 7 against top teams.

Against lesser teams/teams that park the bus, Enzo can play deeper,Palmer at 10.

Murillo is another good option, I'm happy if we are looking in the direction of both Murillo and Guehi, that should be the standard.

Senesi, Sven Botman or Micky Van de Ven?

Edit - Oops. Botman just signed a new contract

He's not a total liability at either, although he doesn't excel at them for sure, he has a bunch of excellent characteristics that make up for it. He's a special player. He also can and has played alongside Palmer, who by comparison btw has massively regressed and seems to be getting worse over time, having been quite bad on average for a full calendar year at this point. In comparison, I see Caicedo and Enzo playing consistently at a high level and only improving as time goes on.

Of course, it is all pointless if Enzo actually wanted to leave, and wants to go somewhere stable-ish that just churns out titles like PSG. If that's what he wants and the PL/Chelsea is not for him then I'd let him go over a player that wants to be here. But that's just paper talk at the moment.

️Liam Rosenior on any signings this month:

"If we do, it needs to be the right player. I need to assess the group. We have conversations every day, myself and the board, about potential transfers out and in. If we feel it's the right player, then we will make the decision."

Still no timeframe for Lavia return

Should be the first midfielder to go this summer.

Then if we get our money back or more for Fernandez, him as well. Not physically or positionally good enough, technically as good as they come, goal contributions have been good the last 18 months but it’s like playing with 10 men without the ball. Every time.

As someone said, he’s decent but thats about it. Still couldn’t tell you if he‘s a 6, 8 or 10. Slower league he would maybe look like a world beater but again, the athleticism and pace coming back into football, I don’t know you’d just run off him for fun because he has no chance in hell of catching you. Also if he is considering his future like being reported, then just do it because for £106m he really hasn’t been value for money as such. Club is in a strong position with the 18 year contract/ whatever he’s on too. Last season was his best season for us but still asking the same questions which says that he isn’t likely going to become this all round world class midfield dynamo he was prophesied to be by many after 6 months at Benfica and 1 World Cup.

PSG links are strange though, don’t see why they would want him when they have Vitinha, Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Senny Mayulu, Zaire-Emery already?

I told you, every time you get a new manager we get this.

This is why I dislike constantly changing new managers. We already know who is crap and who is not, but they don't as they need assess....

It’s mad they try to use that bs again and again!

I can assess that group in 1 day and im not being paid millions..

Shit.

Sell Enzo and get Nico Pas! Faster, stronger, better dribler!

Real Madrid have a buy-back clause on Nico Paz for only 10m euros (it was 9m euros in summer 2025) this coming summer (2026), which they have now said they will use

that said, IF they do want Enzo, we could demand Paz be included as makeweight

but I have to add, Paz is not really a CMF, he is more of an AMF/winger hybrid (I can see him playing CMF in the future perhaps, so there is that)
