So, how I see things and the way we are buying players, especially attacking players but also the players we are being linked with and also certain players who are here now. The ilk of players we are seeing coming in, lets take Gittens and Joao Pedro as an example as a first, both are renowned for their work rate, not just on the ball but off it, and also they are players who will work like dogs to to get back and help the defensive side of the game. Here is my take on that, Maresca is looking to a box/shut off system where by these players like Pedro, Gittens, Neto, Delap all have serious pace so what I can see with Maressca and what he is trying to do is shut teams out and box them in when we don't have the ball, IE we create a line of four at the back, three mids and two wingers behind the ball, these players Gittens, Pedro, Neto, Palmer, Estavao (Not Delap as I'm talking the striker being the highest player) but us then winning the ball back fast and early and triggering a fast and killer breakout.

This is one of the reasons and why I say it because the likes of Madueke and why he maybe sold is he doesn't do enough off the ball and my opinion this is what Maresca is pining for, these lighting quick players who get back, double up and create a trigger for an overload counter. Now there are players I haven't mentioned but I think you will get the gist of what I mean, he wants grafters, people who will get back and won't moan about it. The signing of Pedro is a smart one for me, Pedro can play comfortably as a 9, Nkunku can't, Nkunku is 10, Pedro offers way more as a 9 and this will take the burdon off Delap because we cannot expect 30 goals from him, great if he does but the lad will need help and whilst Pedro is only young he will help Delap and when we need to maybe change and rest Palmer we can do this with Pedro.

Pedro is exactly the swiss army knife type player we need and he offers so much support and we must utilize him to aid the rest of Palmer, we cannot run him into the floor, we simply cannot. So for me,, sell Nkunku, sell Noni and sell Jacskon, fetch in another wide player but believe me it will be another dog of a worker as I can see a pattern with the signings and what Maresca is trying to do. I could be completely wrong, but just watching us play these last few weeks I'm seeing a pattern with the play and the players we are buying.

We will see @YorkshireBlue

The Geordie Mafia thought they got their own "Roman era" when they had the takeover,3 or 4 years later, they celebrated 1 Milk Cup like the Greeks celebrated winning the euros.

If this is the case which I hope it is, do we give maresca abit of a free pass last season?

I've been his harshest critic mate and I think rightly so at times, he hasn't helped himself but at the same time I'm willing and can maybe see what he is trying to do by the way I have explained, I could be totally wrong but it's just my take. People say we have spent fortunes, but you know what? We have spent fortunes on shite, some have been good buys but a lot have been truly and utterly shite.

We must go and get a keeper, it's absolutely absurd if we don't

A GK and a CB for me are a must, we don’t need any more attackers and we certainly don’t need any midfielders

Please let it be Silva or someone top quality like him.
