We WILL see the best of Enzo & Caicedo when they have an experienced no-nonsense CM playing along side them. I think KDH can be that missing piece. I see many people see KDH as a starter but I just cannot see it yet. Pre season will give us all answers. Especially with Enzo, Caicedo and Gallagher all coming late (late July, early August). Ugo is going to Olympics so I think he is missing his chance to impress new manager and will probably go on loan. Not a ideal situation for Maresca and us with Enzo now 99% playing Copa America final which means he will miss all pre season games. Same could happen with Palmer and Conor or Cucurella. Carney, Casadei, Santos, Kellyman, Lavia and KDH will fight for place first couple of weeks. Guys are starting training in 5 days on Monday if I am correct. Players set to start pre-season at Cobham Goalkeepers: Robert Sanchez, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli, Gaga Slonina. Defenders: Reece James, Malo Gusto, Alfie Gilchrist, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell. Midfielders: Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos, KDH, Omari Kellyman. Attackers: Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Deivid Washington, David Fofana, Marc Guiu, Angelo Gabriel. Plus some youngsters. My only consideration with Calafiori was that it would block Colwill's game-time. If he's being looked at as a hybrid LB/LCB then its 2 strong LB options in Cucurella and Calfiori and crazy depth in CB.
NikkiCFC 8,516
If plan is to play both Calafiori and Colwill and one as a LB plus apparently Nkunku is favorite to start on the left side we gonna be without real wide player on that left side. No one is going to stretch the pitch for us.

HE WAS BENCHED AT BRIGHTON DUE TO HIS SHIT ON-THE-BALL PLAY AND PASSING madness! 🤬 Not to mention that goof-up against Arsenal at the Bridge. But...I'll reserve judgement for now. Let's see if Maresca can extract more from him. Still worried about the CB cover in front of him.

Vesper 31,088
Chelsea https://thedailybriefing.io/i/146205988/Chelsea Riccardo Calafiori to Chelsea would cost €45-50m - more info in today’s edition of Fabrizio Romano’s exclusive column. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: “It is amazing to be sitting here as a Chelsea player. This is a club people grow up watching and hoping to one day play for, so it is a privilege to be here. I’m really excited to get going and can’t wait to show everybody what I can do.” Carney Chukwuemeka’s contract includes a £40m release clause. Chelsea insist on their position not to allow the talented midfielder to leave on loan. Every approach over a potential loan in recent months has been rejected so far. Chelsea have no plan to include Nicolas Jackson into any negotiation as he’s considered an important part of their project. Jackson is also very happy at Chelsea and only focused on his current club. Armando Broja: “It’s true, I have offers from Serie A, Bundesliga and Premier League”. “Staying at Chelsea? It is an option; I still have a contract here.” The expectation remains for Broja to leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer.

Well the issue is international loans limit. I honestly don't think he'll be loaned aboard unless someone offers guaranteed playing time and a reasonable loan fee. Maybe a Championship loan? However, in a season where we may play 80 games, 3 CF's isn't unlikely- especially as the level is Conference League grpup and Carabao for the excess games in the first half of the season. However, even if he does I suspect Fofana, Washington and Broja to be loaned/sold so it will still bring us to three. Washington in particular cannot sit around for another season. Robben was from Holland and ended up being one of the best wide players we've had at the club over the years. I get the Bakayoko hate but nothing wrong with Holland (as a development league) if you sign the right players.
Strike 7,782
Have to add - Di Marzio has been wrong recently. He said talks are progressing well over Carney loan to AC Milan with an option to buy. This story was then shot down.

Maybe that's true but I reckon they'll keep Guiu around till January and if he hasn't had enough playing time, they will find a loan for him. 2 hours ago, Strike said: There will be 4 if we sign a striker (David) So who are the 4? Jackson, Nkunku, Guiu and possibly David from Lille (if it happens)? I'm not counting Broja as his sale would help with PSR concerns
