I think our defense is sorted very well this year. Badiashile and Disasi have a solid chemistry since they played together at Monaco for more than 2 years. Colwill is a great prospect and could become our VVD. And then there is defensive Yoda who still got it and can guide the others.

The homegrown part is a nice little bonus but with the way homegrown status works, alongside England as a nation having a pretty deep pool of players currently both at senior and youth level, I actually think it relates more to trying to buy players from other premier league clubs, irrespective of English/HG status.

When the lower table sides in the league and even some Championship clubs have far bigger budgets and revenues than some pretty historic teams around Europe, it speaks volumes for the money swirling around in this country and as a result some of the 'smaller' clubs can quote hugely inflated prices for their best players.

Okay, just finished watching a full video of Disasi. He looks incredible! I wasn’t expecting to see such a big guy be as technically good as he is. Having not seen much of him I was expecting a Zouma type. In other words, big and physical but pretty questionable with the ball.

Guess there’s a reason Ten Hag & Arteta were both interested in him. They like very technical CB’s.

This could be a bargain if he translates his game well to the PL. Could have our long term Thiago Silva successor signed a year early.
