That would be a weird one... Strasbourg need to be signing up these sort of players, not us.

Probably bought for cheap and loned to them afterwards.

Perhaps, but isn't the point of owning satellite club not spending the FFP money of main club? Meanwhile Chelsea is rumored to be after Strasbourg-tier players all the time. It's also possible it's just same scouting staff, so they are "Chelsea" in media as it surely clicks better.

Can we stop signing only kids which we will send  on loan  and possibly in 2-3 years they will be ready (some of them) . Pochettino clearly showed that he wants experience in the squad.

Well basically these transfers are investments for the future. If we buy him now for lets say 10m, loan him for 1-2 years, he performs well, and his value will go up. If Strasbourg would sign him now for these 10m, no way they could sell him to us for these 10m without having UEFA all over our arses.

So basically the idea behind this is that we could get a player that is worth for example 30m for the 10 we initially paid. And then we can decide whether we wanna use him in the squad or sell him elsewhere to make some profit.

Its nothing new really. Roman did the same with Vitesse and his famous loan army.

So no Caicedo? Hes a kid himself with only 1 year of PL football. Angelo is far more experienced than Lavia e.g

God help us if this kid is the Caicedo alternative. I’m seeing now that we’ve agreed a deal of over £20m for him and that’s pretty pricey for someone who would go straight to Strasbourg, isn’t it?

Same age as Lavia and 1/3 the price 😂

Yeah, the previous loan army was at least cheap-ish/free, that made a return on them a lot of easier. Now we seem to hoard very hit or miss players for prices that are actually beyond possibilities of most clubs in the game…

Caicedo has more experience at a relevant level. Premier league and international including World Cup campaign.
