I don’t understand the boards fixation with Caicedo , why not put £55M into someone like Thuram and still have a good portion of money to get another midfielder in.

Thuram more of a box to box

If Poch really wants Caicedo i appreciate the club giving it their all, but not bowing to Brighton's ridic demands. Whats kind of concerning to me is the apparent lack of alternative/additional midfield targets

K. Thuram is quite similar to Kovacic imo but with a lot better defensive attributes, better physicality, just a good option all around but v different profile to Caicedo

This makes them look quite similar tho. Caicedo tackles more, Thuram apparently is the better interceptor

Isn’t that the point of Caicedo? He would be a b2b as well well who is mostly focused on winning the ball deep in midfield or high up the pitch as well as progressing it but surely no DM.
can easily see both, Caicedo or Thuram working in a double pivot with Enzo.
really hope we start to look at other targets if Brighton continue with their ludicrous demands

Thuram is far more adventurous in ball progression from what I've seen. The Kovacic shouts are spot on, and I would even say Thuram takes it up a level.

Caicedo probably a more disciplined option for that pivot.

Caicedo’s comments don’t really help our cause, tbh. Probably just entrenches Brighton’s stance of £100m. Basically the same situation as Arse went through in January. He publicly said he wanted to go there but they wouldn’t meet Brighton’s valuation so they dug their heels in and he stayed.
