What I don’t understand, if we are in for a keeper  anyway, why say Kepa remains no 1 before even having acquired a target? We would be attracting far better players if we give them the prospect of starting. Maybe it’s just media speculation, doubt Poch will hand out guarantees before even having trained the squad.
don’t see a reason why Mamar does not walk straight into our first XI. He has already shown he is better than Kepa.

Probably trying to keep whatever value Kepa has left...

We're stuck with Kepa until the last year of his contract as no club out there will touch him.

Boehly is no longer in charge of transfers

The top journalists are still saying things like “Boehly wants” etc in regard to transfers , so maybe he’s still calling the shots if not negotiating

Santos fans laughing their ass off apparently because this Angelo kid is so bad allegedly. Only know him from FM, was a mixed bag for me there.

he can play LWB

he is a great dribbler (2nd only to Vini Jr of Real in global topflight football in dribbles for U23s )

good size (1.82m, so basically 6 feet tall, he hit a growth spurt form 1.73m to 1.80m to 1.82m the last couple of years)

not much of a finisher yet (turned 18 in December) so hopefully improves

Yeah Vini's stats probably weren't too different at that age. Just gotta hope he develops right

I just feel like a number of these players won't make the grade, similar to years gone by. It's one thing to potentially go after the most talented or noteworthy youngsters around, like RM tends to do, but this idea of stockpiling them?

Meh. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

So this Angelo is a done deal for 15m.

Couldt we have gone for Arda Guler instead? A proper talent?

https://www.football-espana.net/2023/06/27/turkish-wonderkid-arda-guler-identifies-laliga-side-as-his-preferred-next-club

Over the last couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation regarding the future of Arda Guler, considered by many to be one of the brightest young talents in European football.

Guler has been a regular starter for Fenerbahce for much of the last 12 months, despite being just 18 years of age. He has not looked out of place in senior football, which has caught the attention of many of Europe’s big hitters.

Guler has been heavily linked with a move away from Fenerbahce, with it having emerged that he has a release clause worth just €18m. Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in triggering this.

Diario AS have revealed that Guler is keen on a move to Spanish football, although rather than either of the El Clasico clubs, his preferred destination is Europa League holders Sevilla.

If they can pull it off, signing Guler would be a major coup for Sevilla. However, it has also been reported that the teenager’s next club would owe a “labyrinth” of commissions to different agents, which amounts to a staggering €20m.

Following this news, it’s safe to say that any interested parties will have to dig deep into their pockets to sign Guler. Sevilla will hope that they can use their advantage to press ahead with negotiations.

The father of AC Milan target Arda Guler is asking for a huge commission when his son joins a new club which changes the face of the transfer completely, a report claims.

As was reported by Relevo on Twitch (via Milan News), the father of Guler currently functions as the attacking midfielder’s agent and that is why he is in a position to ask for a commission.

Despite his son/client being just 18 years old, he is asking for a commission of €18-20 million. Given the release clause in Guler’s contract with Fenerbahce is €17.5 million, the father is effectively doubling the amount of money the buying club will need to shell out.

This could knock Milan out of the running, even though the Rossoneri are reportedly ready to bid slightly higher than the release clause to fend off the interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The father also wants confirmation that his son will have a key role at the club.

Now, according to ESPN, a clutch of teams – including Liverpool – have decided that the move is getting a little too rich for them. On top of the transfer fee, it’s claimed that suitors will have to pay a ‘significant’ commission to Guler’s agents, as well as surrendering 20% of any future sale to Fenerbahce.

If you believe that, you believe Steven Avery is guilty. 🤣

So reading around we are going for 2 midfielders (hopefully exprerienced ones), a starting striker and a goalkeeper that could challenge Kepa, let's see what the new board are made of. Although they have done alright so far regarding the sales.

Diogo Costa, Caicedo, Barella, Kane and call it a day!

His value? That shipped has sailed, wrecked and sunk into Mariana Trench

maybe we are trying to not sound too desperate or spare Kepas fragile confidence

I hope it is one of the top young ones and one older one..not just for experience but don't want the path blocked in the longterm for some of the youngsters we already got,who i believe will be atleast as good if not better than those we could sign. Although wouldnt be against say Lavia and the Vigo kid as fees wouldnt mean they would be automatically given main starter slot for years to come.
