Still no whispers of any sort of attacker coming in…

Cucurella and Fofana would be top signings but are we planning on trying to win every game 1-0? 🤣 Spectacular defense but a whole bunch of blunt attackers who can’t finish to save their lives? Should be good to get us top 4 again but I can’t see much more than that with our current striker force.

So Havertz/Pulisic/whoever else stays can’t be as wasteful and inconsistent as last season if we hope to stay ahead of them. Mount I trust to replicate or better his past season but all the others are huge question marks.

Lukaku was useless and is gone , maybe sterling and broja can provide

I could be in the minority, but I don't necessarily think our attackers were the biggest problem. It was our wingbacks at times not being attacking enough causing a lack of synergy moving forward. And often times, given Chilly's injury all year, it was the inbalance of having one good at attacking, and then we have the likes of Alonso on the other side who doesn't give much aside from finishing. 

With Cucarella and James we will have FBs who can link up, play, take on and create now. I think both have quite nice shots on them too. 

I rate Havertz and Sterling up front. A more attacking minded/solid finishing midfielder/AMF is needed.

I think people are forgetting just how important and demanding these wingback positions are. We need quality in depth. The fact these players are also versatile makes it a huge bonus. 

I wanted (for years) Hakimi for RWB and LW depth and Theo for LWB and LBC depth

Theo can also play a legit LCB and is big enough (12 cms taller than Cucurella)

Summary:

1. Cucurella likely to join Chelsea. Tuchel sees cucurella as someone who can provide cover at LCB, LB and LWB.

2. Colwill could end up moving the other way, likely in a separate deal, with a buyback clause included.

3. Cucurella's arrival could facilitate departure of Alonso, Sarr has interest from Fulham and Ligue 1, he has been told he can't leave until another defender comes in. Should Cucurella deal not happen, Gvardiol will be an option.

4. Fofana is more of a pure CB target, price between £80m-£85m. Bar Colwill and potentially Broja, difficult to see the players Boehly can offer.

5. Dumfries could be a more swifter deal, considering Inter's need to raise funds, and talks with PSG for the sale of Skriniar being stalled over price, the move could allow for the exit of Azpilicueta to Barca.

6. Tuchel admirer of De jong, De jong prefers to stay at Barca and collect his money, if De Jong is to be persuaded to leave, the impression is that a move to Chelsea would be more desirable than Manchester United.

7. Werner's preference is to go back to Germany, perhaps to RB Leipzig, in order for it to happen, Werner would need to take a sizeable wage sacrifice like Lukaku

8. Kepa's loan to Napoli expected to be finalised in a matter of days. An asking price of €35m-€40m attracted no interest across Europe. An option to buy is possible but an obligation is unlikely.
