Issue number 367 of the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post ranks current big-5 league clubs according to their net spending on transfer operations concluded over the last ten seasons. Manchester United tops the table with a negative balance of more than one billion euro, ahead of Manchester City and Paris St-Germain. Fourteen English clubs are in the top 20 of clubs with the most negative net transfer spending.

LOSC Lille clubs stands out at the opposite end with a positive transfer balance of €349 million over the last decade. The French side outranks league rivals Olympique Lyonnais and three Italian Serie A teams: Genoa, Udinese and Atalanta. The top three of current big-5 league clubs having generated the most incomes from transfers since 2012/13 are Chelsea, Monaco and Atlético Madrid. In total, 52 out 98 clubs have a positive net spending. This ratio is one (Brentford) out of 20 for Premier League teams.

Gathered with the greatest care through the cross-checking of all possible sources, whether official or unofficial, the data includes eventual add-on fees included in the deals, regardless of their actual payment. Within the limits of available information, incomes deriving from sell-on fees are also taken into account.

Thank god. Brilliant on Fifa but an absolute tractor 🚜 in real life. He would have been eaten alive by City and Liverpool on a regular basis.

Now move for Kounde before Barca get their hands on him.

Unless we are going to roll with Broja, (Soonsup-Bell is not ready yet. he just turned 18 four weeks ago)

there are just not that may acceptable strikers out there

forget fantasyland Håland and Mbappe. zero chance either comes here, and we fucked off and lost Dušan Vlahović

soooo

that leaves  these 10 (I am not at all sold on Youssef En-Nesyri, Patrik Schick, or André Silva as being EPL level CF's)

listed by T-Markt valuation

Lautaro Martínez   so wish we had grabbed him and not Lu-kaka, but Inter will not sell him for less than some insane price
Victor Osimhen  proto-type EPL CF IMHO
Gabriel Jesus NO
Richarlison   NO
Jonathan David
Amine Gouiri (need to see another big season out of him before I am sold)
Dominic Calvert-Lewin too expensive for what he presents as atm
Alexander Isak   his release clause is too high though
Karim Adeyemi  best under 21yo CF out there atm IMHO
Darwin Núñez  not sure if he fits our style

acceptable CB's

experienced WC

Marquinhos   (hard as fuck pull)
Matthijs de Ligt
Milan Skriniar
Jules Koundé

Alessandro Bastoni (will not leave)
Kalidou Koulibaly (only for a fair fee, as I think he still has 3, 4 top years left)

youth/younger

Jurrien Timber  (very interesting player, only 1.79m, but is insanely good on the ball)
Sven Botman
Josko Gvardiol
Maxence Lacroix
Odilon Kossounou
Nico Schlotterbeck

The new CBs should be fast and very good with the ball (not clumsy like Zouma).

pretty sure there are other reasons. He could have stayed at Bayern it’s not that they released him. There has to be another motive behind the downgrade

Winning one at Dortmund will likely feel sweeter and a bigger scale of achievement than 5 at Bayern. Maybe he craves that type of challenge.

Or Sule just went here to spite the Bayern board. He is going to earn €10m/year at Dortmund, the same salary Bayern offered to him.

Chelsea doubling Barcelona’s contract offer for key player

https://www.Chelsea-news.co/2022/02/Chelsea-doubling-barcelonas-contract-offer-for-key-player/

ronald-araujo-fdsvdz.jpg

Barcelona are growing increasingly concerned about Chelsea’s interest in their central defender Ronald Araujo, according to well placed sources at Catalan paper Sport.

They claim that the Uruguayan loves Barcelona, and is happy to stay – but that as it stands, Chelsea are offering twice what the Blaugrana are to sign up the defender long term.

It still seems likely he stays put, but the pressure Chelsea are applying from their end will create plenty of doubt about his future.

Araujo has grown from a good prospect to a really solid player over the last 12 months of being thrown in at the deep end in a difficult time at Barcelona, and he probably sees his development best served by staying put at the club where he has risen through the ranks.

But money talks, and if the rumours are true, there’s no way he will be able to turn down sign a massive wage hike.

Now that Chiesa blew out his knee

this is it for wingers for me

Mikel Oyarzabal (the only WC winger who is remotely available. unless you count Mbappe as a winger, and he is impossible anyway, downside is his cost)
Moussa Diaby
Raphinha  (safest bet)
Arnaut Danjuma
Hirving Lozano
Allan Saint-Maximin
Yéremy Pino
Ousmane Dembélé  (ona free he is worth a shot IMHO)
Ismaïla Sarr
Gabriel Veron (youth, and he will likely play for Palmeiras against us)

AMF

only 2 interest me, and both can player winger

Christopher Nkunku
Florian Wirtz

Would definitely consider Araujo and Pau Torres as top options. Also if we somehow sell Lukaku I heard a rumour Benzema has no intention to stay in Real if they get Haaland. Can give us a couple of years, still at top level.

IF (huge if) Benz leaves RM

the only club he is going to is PSG

Torres would be one of my secondary picks for CB, but I swear, every game I watch him he is oki bit not great, maybe like 8 to 10 games

I have seen highlights where he looks WC, I just seem to pick his lesser quality games 🙄

Unless PSG hit the crack pipe like Barca circa 2018, we've no chance of getting rid of Lukaku.
