Who will buy who?

If we want to get rid of Cho & Werner, there would be a number of German suitors. Ziyech has been linked with a number of Italian clubs (mainly AC Milan), so I guess whether he can maintain some form will be the deciding factor.

By German suitors, you mean Bayern and Dortmund?

No offence to Dortmund but it's debatable whether CHO and Werner would want to take a step down to Dortmund. Yes, they may play a lot more there but they might not earn as much (Dortmund unlikely to pay big wages) AND they aren't gonna win anything except for the odd DFB Pokal success here and there. In Werner's case, Dortmund are supposedly trying to keep Haaland for another season at least. If they succeed, then they won't go for Werner. If they fail, then they would very likely go after someone like Adeyemi instead. Bayern are a bigger possibility but they already have a number of wingers and if Lewandowski stay, CHO and Werner would just be walking into a similar situation there. If Lewandowski leaves, Bayern might come for Werner because of the Nagelsmann connection but that's also debatable considering their sporting director turned him down when he was flying high at Leipzig.

Would also throw Pulisic into the mix of potentially leaving/being sold.

I think Leipzig or even Leverkusen could go for CHO if he became available. It's probably Bayern or bust, as you mentioned, where Werner is concerned & I could imagine Nagelsmann pushing for him if the chance arose.

Pulisic is a weird one, as I'm unsure who could want/afford him considering the probable fee. He seems like someone I could see going off to Spain.

How weird would it be to play against Lampard’s Everton?

Everton are potentially in a relegation battle for the remainder of the season so if they don’t get this next appointment right it could be catastrophic in the same way Newcastle appointing Howe could/will likely be because I think they alongside Norwich are fucked.

The Everton job is a big job too with its own problems - the owners obviously got his opinion and unrealistic expectations for the club based on the money put in, the squads a vastly overpriced mix of players and I don’t think any manager with half a brain should be looking to rush into there, particularly one who hasn’t ever experienced a relegation battle and has had 2 good jobs at clubs who were expected to push for top of the table spots (Derby were in playoffs season before he went there and we finished 3rd season beforehand).

If hypothetically (seems very likely) we move to 4atb and lose Chris and Azpi do we even need more than one new signing to replace them? Assuming we keep Rudiger.

Rudiger (Chalobah) Silva (Kounde)

Kounde can also replace James at RB when needed.

Or if we need 5th CB do we use someone like Sarr or go for new signing?

Sule looks like Harry Maguire to me  😄

I prefer Kounde  or Ginter .

I think we can easily afford both Sule and Kounde

The main thing that worries me about Sule are his knees

he is massively faster than slabhead, when he is fully healthy he would be our paciest CB, now that we sold Tomori (who was our fastest player on the entire squad)

I'd have liked to see Tomori under Tuchel. Sale was sanctioned days before Lampard was sacked which didn't make sense when Chris, Rudi, Azpi and TSilva were towards the end of their deals

Nah. Same thing with what I said regarding Dortmund.

Who in Spain could want him? Barcelona are broke. Real Madrid are going after Mbappe and maybe Haaland as well. Atletico are probably the only one.

Pulisic would do well in Italy.

Roma have an American owner, don't they?

Who to believe in this one - Simon Phillips or an actual, reliable English media outlet?

Is it really?

Tuchel himself said the back 4 is only an option and he has explained that he decided to play with a back 4 recently due to the injuries/COVID to the CBs and injuries to both Chilwell and James as well as perhaps the team's poor form. We were getting next to nothing from Alonso and Azpi as WBs from an attacking perspective. So, Tuchel had to try and change something and make sure we get at least attacking width - which we typically get from Chilwell, James and at least Alonso in a back 3 - by moving to a back 4 with actual wingers in the system. There's less emphasis on the likes of Alonso and Azpi to provide the width in that system compared to a back 3. On top of that, the back 4 has only worked against one team so far - Spurs. It didn't work well against Brighton and am sure people do remember that against City, Tuchel reverted to a back 3. So, it still remains to be seen if he will go with a back 4 permanently.

On the bigger picture, I'd also ask - where do you fit in Werner, Havertz and/or even Broja in the back 4 for example? If we play with 2 strikers a lot of the time, then sure. They have a place upfront (like against Spurs in the League Cup). But if we play with 2 strikers only occasionally, then it's not gonna work in the long run. If we play with only 1 striker most of the time in the back 4 (I suspect Tuchel will keep on shoehorning Lukaku into the XI), then where do you fit them in? They are not wingers. Havertz could maybe play as a No.10 (in a 4-2-3-1) but if Mount is gonna be a starter most of the time, then he would likely play there. Havertz is not a CM either and you yourself complained about that when Lampard played him in midfield in the 4-3-3. So where then? That's before we even go to the potential issues in midfield and defence.

He certainly would have gotten a lot of playing time with us this season, he made the midseason Serie A team of the year

After Livramento, he was probably the only other exit this season I was not happy about (maybe Giroud or Tammy (less so with him as we got good money) as well)
