Decent Analysis on Onana

Had the same concern on his decision making ability and not sold on him being a ball playing goalie. Biggest issue from this video is that he parries the ball in such a way that it remains in dangerous play. However i do feel he is a solid upgrade at the cost he is available

So to cut a long story short.

He's average as a sweeper, which could be an issue at times when we play high lines (I did laugh at how badly he mistimed a couple of them on that video).

He's okay at playing out, not Ederson but not a train wreck either.

However his main strength's lie crucially in the areas we need it the most right now, in shot stopping and command of his area, which should see a vast decrease in set piece horrors and conceding the first and sometimes only shot on target.

If that report is accurate all in all I'm sold, especially for that price. Only downside will be we will lose him for a month season after next to ACON, which makes finding a suitable back up pretty crucial.

Yes for the price that is quoted around he is a absolutely a steal and more importantly an upgrade ... and then it is up to the coaches to rectify those gaps. But the concern would be the decision making on 1v1 or 1v2 but his instincts & decision making on shots spotting as u pointed r much better than Kepa's

I wouldn't say that 30 mio is a steal for a guy that makes that kind of mistakes.

What would say about a 75m someone who makes much more mistakes than him?

Consider that as a baseline and today's market, 30m becomes a steal :)

The problem is that clubs finances have been hammered by Covid. Reports say that the PL are getting £330m less from TV, then you have the reduction in gate receipts, spending at the ground, merch, CL money is likely to be hit too. Utd are saying they are on course for a £100m loss and they are the market leaders at milking advertising ££££.

So far in this market, the only real moves have been from us with Werner (Ziyech doesn't count), City and Bayern. However, all three have reasons for this. Chelsea no transfer spending for 18 months, Bayern are perhaps the best run top club and City are financed by the UAE. After that it is a guessing game. Utd may go big on Sancho but that is starting to look less likely than 2 days ago.

As for our dregs, I placed them into 4 categories. Batsh*t to be fair may be able to be sold, but it will require him to give up his £110k a week wage and drop to his actual level (which he doesn't seem to be keen on.) As I said in that post, this market is going to be very difficult to shift players as finances have changed with clubs looking at serious haircuts to once thought of guaranteed income. As a result, players are going to be the ones that will have to take the hit, For instance, if your a player on £100k, why would you move somewhere else for £55k? Especially when if you wait a year the market could swing back and then you could move then?

RM just offloaded James Rodriguez and his bloated contract to ATM for 15m euros. 200kpw and the last time he was half decent was in the 2014 world cup. Still think we will have a problem moving on players who are earning 10/20kpw more than what they should be?

United are going to buy sancho for 120m plus 340kpw wages, so lets not talk about their losses.

Juve are consistently linked with jorginho and milik among others.

Simply put, a lot of clubs are going to see this as an opportunistic time. Where they can get a player of better quality for lesser than market value prices from teams who will be willing to offload some players.

Well lets see. I hope you're right and I am wrong.

James Rodriguez has 29 goals and 28 assists in LaLiga in 5409 minutes. Goal or assist every 95 minutes. Exactly same stats in Bundesliga. G or A every 95 minutes.

Forbid him to run and he is still better than Mount. Has football in his little finger.

Your obsession with Mount is...not healthy.

Jorginho & Barkley out, Havertz & Rice in. We just need one of these midtable suckers like West Ham or something to come in for Ross. Maybe one of the promoted sides looking to make a splashy signing.
