Moussa Dembele??

Fuck No.

He isn't good enough. Werner or Martinez....that's it. Not interested in anyone else.

Werner or Martinez are not coming in January lol

Dembele is a realistically option why Would Werner sign to compete with another young player when he can stay in Germany move to a top club with a quality but ageing striker and a team with lack of depth on the wings.

Martinez will cost 100m

Dybala is not leaving Juventus.

Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are likely to leave Chelsea during this window and Frank Lampard has been tracking Dembele for some time and sees similarities between Dembele and the former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba. [Sky Sports]

both not bad we know Werner is the better player but he won't sign in January and he will demand to be a start and what message does that send to the youth project if you bench the best youth  performer for doing nothing wrong.

Although my preference is Morelos I'd be happy with Dembele, infact I suggested him in the summer even before I knew Tammy was going to step up. I've liked him ever since he faced us in the youth cup final in 2014, he worried me all through the tie.

He's also at a good age where players tend to start to step it up a gear.

You can clearly see Lampard is desperate to add bodies to the team since we lack depth in certain areas. That however is no excuse to go for available mediocre targets and ignore the long term build of the team, he wants to get that Top 4 but at what cost. I'd rather our ban didn't get overturned if it turns like this, whats the point, the never ending cycle of buying whatever's available and hope it sticks, if it doesn't, stay a few more years until finally get replaced for another one.

As for Werner you can clearly tell from the article the board is beyond delusional, they are tracking to see if he has any release clause yet can't fucking call Werner's agent and confirm it once and for all.

If that was the case we'd be fighting United for Calvert Levin.

You say long term build but there's more to that than just snapping up the most high profile names that can be got, Liverpool are on course to become to the greatest PL team of all time (sickening but reality) however most of their current starting Xl were hysterically laughed at the point Liverpool signed them.

Regarding Lampard's transfer strategy, little bit too early to make a proper assessment on that but the two big decisions he's had to make do far (retaining Kova, letting Luiz go) have turned out to be masterstrokes.

Calvert Levin should stay at Everton develop under Carlo add to England's options even more.

Crazy Solanke was higher rated than all of them when they were all younger.

Abraham and Rashford doing great

Calvert Levin developing

wonder what Solanke is thinking lol.

There is no logic behind Dembele, he is extremely similar to Abraham and we're all already frustrated he doesn't offer much outside goals, so instead of getting someone to compliment Abraham we get someone like him, from Lampard's own words he wants to play like Liverpool, good luck with this pair of strikers.

You also mention Liverpool as an example fair enough but Klopp is one of the best coaches in the world he had an eye for small diamonds all his career, Lampard is still at making basic tactical errors let alone transfers, where he already wants Willian to extend and can't drop Azpi for James.

Dembele's goals are in a shit league, all his league goals in his career are in shit leagues, and he has been weak in the CL the last 3 years, only 2 goals in 1023 minutes

so much of his rep is based off ONE game

well over 3 years ago

where he scored a brace versus Shitty for Celtic

against this back 4 as well

7ea1e62ed75242462101d9c346f2d900.png

take away those 2 goals,

he has three CL goals in 1500 minutes

that is hardly a 'step-up-and-be-counted' performance level

I don't see how the two are related when different skill sets are required. Guardiola, for example, is seen as the best manager in the world but can't seem to identify competent defenders for his Man City side.

He's deemed that way because of the success his style of football has had rather than his moves in the transfer market.

Point still stands.
