Clearlake, Egbali and and Boehly - how's the next chapter going ?

Right now the focus is everywhere, but not on the pitch to win today. Young players for the future, attempts at a new stadium, all this is in perspective. If Pochettino can build a squad that holds in the top 6 and a regular presence in Europe in those years, that would be enough for Boehly and co.

Which means that in 5-6 years he will be ready to sell if his assets, in which he has invested 1 billion like young players and possibly a new stadium, prove attractive to a new buyer

He committed for 10 years to Roman. He cannot sell before.

So many owners, particularly in the Championship are doing the same - 'sports complexes' real estate, ground expansion as the club sits in mediocrity - as you say its all about increasing the value of their investments

Shohei Ohtani signing with Dodgers live updates: News, analysis and reaction to $700 million deal

Ohtani, Dodgers agree to 10-year, $700 million contract

Shohei Ohtani’s singular pursuit of history, one man’s quest to rewrite the baseball world’s understanding of what is possible, reached another summit on Saturday when he agreed to the largest contract in the annals of major North American team sports, a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ohtani announced his decision on Instagram. The deal ends years of feverish speculation about Ohtani’s future. Ohtani, a 29-year-old two-way sensation, has captivated the industry since he left Japan for Major League Baseball heading into the 2018 season. He has done things that appeared impossible in the modern era, feats that harkened back to Babe Ruth. As he traveled the country with the Los Angeles Angels this past summer, fans serenaded him with recruiting pitches. When he entered free agency, a dozen teams lined up, curious to see if they could meet his eye.

Only one team could secure Ohtani’s services. He will now be compensated for both his immense talent and his unparalleled star power. His contract eclipsed the $360 million record for free agents set last winter by New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and also surpassed the record-setting $426.5 million extension from Ohtani’s former Angels teammate Mike Trout. His achievement exceeded even those outside of baseball, topping the $450 million contract inked by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Ohtani has outpaced even soccer star Lionel Messi’s $674 million contract — signed in 2021 when he was with FC Barcelona.

Since Boehly arrived each point has cost £15.9 million. The most in history. Thats an expensive 0-0 draw

It has to be by some margin the most spectacular failure of a club takeover and transfer strategy in football history . Even all the sheiks were reality-conscious enough to just hand the reins to actual football ppl and confine themselves to pumping in money.

But Boehly&cos arrogance to think their moneyball Model to be so universally powerful they can just jam us into it. What they did is in fact way worse than just a collection of Uber-expensive bonkers signings like Romans Torres, Lukaku or Shevchenko brainfarts.
Instead, while spending the same absurd amount of money, we irrevocably tied the fate of this club to a wild collection of moderately talented weak minded, hyped up, immature would-be superstars based on some bogus transient stats model. By handing out retirement contracts to 20 somethings we made sure to attract the least ambitious hypeboys available instead of actually hungry  prodigies. At the same time the overall culture at the club has been degraded from a brutal but winning one to improvised slacking, slapstick and amateurism at every level which has also affected the more experienced figures carried over from the Roman era.
But not only have boehly&co ruined the squad. The terrible results, performances and overall representation of the club in the media is rapidly chasing off the more casual fans. You see it in this forum and others but also in the social media following as well as the even more eerie atmosphere at the bridge. As a consequence, commercial revenue is bound to take a massive hit. So not only did they massively overestimate their ability on the sporting side but also failed at what they were supposed to be good at, not only eradicated most of the elite, winning principles  implanted into the dna of the club but also failed to deliver on their promises to develop it.

They have no interest in winning on the field. For them it is meaningless.

Their focus is to build the new stadium, to build a team with youngsters and after years when the new stadium is there they will  present this amazing product to the next buyer for max profit .

Quote

BlueCO  are inspired by RedBull. The Club will scout players , develop them over  a 3 years period before  selling them for a high prize. Strasbourg to Chelsea  will be like Salzburg to Leipzig (lequipe)

This would makes sense then in selling Gallagher.

They want to do similar with this, buy player and sell them.

But then I have an issue, why spend 100 million on Caicedo and Enzo each? You can't sell them for more. So I see the point where they want to buy younger players play them and then sell them, but then I see they are willing to spend big on targets they want.

So what is it? I don't know.
