Chelsea Women Thread

Campeonas, campeonas, ole ole ole!

The women secured their third straight WSL title with a 4-2 win over Man Utd in front of over 4,300 fans and Todd Boehly*. Kingsmeadow's biggest crowd of the season saw the girls trail one-nil and then two-one before coming back to claim the three points to finish one point ahead of second placed Arsenal.

Now it's on to Wembley next weekend where CFCW will try to retain The FA Cup by beating Man City women. Easier said than done however because City are in blistering form. Since the turn of the year they have been the best team in the country. It's going to be a cracker. Tickets for the final are available here: https://www.chelseafc.com/en/tickets---membership/buy-tickets?pageTab=WOMEN'S FIXTURES

*I didn't spot Boehly myself but I've been assured that he was there.

what a banger 🔥, her 2nd one is one of the goals of the season, reminded me of Drogs against Everton in 06/07 season. Sam Kerr is an amazing player, what a season for her 💪💙

Chelsea have signed Swedish winger Johanna Rytting Kaneyrd to a three year contract. She becomes the fourth player to join the first team squad this summer. The club seems to be striving to maintain it's domestic competitiveness and bridge the gap with Lyon and Barcelona. Competition for places is going to be fierce in all areas but especially so up top where we have; Beth England, Fran Kirby, Guro Reiten, Lauren James, Pernille Harder, Sam Kerr and, now, Johanna R-K.

The women are having a great summer transfer window. Having lost there important players at the end of last season it was possible that this season's squad could be weaker than last term but, with the window still not closed, that definitely won't be the case. We've added four player to the first team squad plus signed a promising youngster who will go on loan. One newcomer is Katerina Svitkova whose move from West Ham was completed a few weeks ago.

Another of the great CFCW recruits this summer is Canadian international and five times Champions League winner Kadeisha Buchannan. We've needed a player of Kadeisha's profile at CB for a long time.  Powerful in the air, strong defender, great in possession, and good passing. Kadeisha was the second capture of the summer and I thought I had mentioned her arrival before but I'm correcting that now. Really good player.
