The Ivory Coast forward's last act in a Chelsea shirt was scoring the winning penalty in the Champions League final defeat of Bayern Munich in May.

One of his first games will be against Manchester United with Alex Ferguson's team playing Shanghai Shenhua on 25 July as part of their pre-season tour.

Agreed. He wouldn't have moved to an english club but would have hated playing against him next season lined up for juventus or real madrid or someone.

Also cannot argue with him moving there for a last big payday given his charity commitments.

China is different, the defenders there are well known for being easily bullied; unlike say Korea, Thailand or Japan where they're a fair bit bigger.
