Thank goodness it's only the Daily Fail reporting it. We must be crazy if we think a 36 year old Drogba, Torres (who is one of the worst strikers in the league) and new to the league Diego Costa are going to rival Man City's fire power of Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic. Vast difference in quality and the problems of last season remain.

If we're serious about winning the league or champions league, the least we can do is do everything possible to keep Lukaku or sign a suitable quality striker to challenge Costa's place in the team.

I think DD would still hold plenty of value in the dressing room. The man is an absolute beast. I'd take him back in a heart beat. Oscar needs to hand over the 11 though.

I think he's still at the club in some capacity, but it's being made official. He represented the club along with Giurlay in the CL draw last season.

Drogba has been average since 2010, the last month off his Chelsea career sugarcoated how poor he was in the last couple of season's, our striker issue was even worse in 11/12 and ironically we were looking in envy at Newcastle for having a free scoring Demba Ba. What was quite noticeable especially in his last season is he completely lost motivation for the run of the mill PL games, think that's changed as he has got older?

In the world cup it was clear he is pushing his body to the limit, also it took Eto'o a while to get back up to speed playing in a major league again, factor in Didier would play less (due to us having a bonafide first choice this time) and is 4 years older than Eto'o was last year............

If we want an experienced serial winner to compliment Costa we should have kept Samuel, Drogba has his place in the Chelsea history books, as a club legend but as a player in 2014? Get real.

I would love him back at the club but honestly not as a player. He's a legend here and it would be brilliant to have him back, but his last kick off the ball for Chelsea FC should be that one that brought us Champions League, no less than that.

The most ideal situation would be selling Torres and bringing DD back to mentor Lukaku, so we have a strike force of Costa, Lukaku and Drogba.

Not going to happen though. I don't think I'd like DD here as our 2nd choice striker tbh...
