Conte did not get his signings the board fucked them all up, he NEVER ask for the insane £69m (salary plus fees) Drinkwater nightmare

we fucked up basically everyone he asked for (easy list because he named them on dozens of occasions)

Alex Sandro

Alex Telles

Nainggolan

Sergi Roberto

Corentin Tolisso

Alessandro Florenzi

Koulibaly

Miralem Pjanic

Romagnoli

Brozovic

Bernardeschi

Icardi

Belotti (meh)

Immobile

Zaha

Candreva (no great loss)

Bunch of names on that list is disputable, and anyhow it fails to address the point of the players wanting to play for Chelsea under Conte.

Drinkwater cost us 35m and he isnt even good enough for the bench. Morata cost us 55m or even more and flopped almost as hard as Bakayoko who cost 40m.

Just because we thrown 200m every summer doesnt mean we are improving the squad.

Just because Pulisic cost 58m doesnt mean we are now serious. He cost that much because he is american. Check Bvb forum, everyone was laughing at Chelsea for paying that much. But maybe he becomes great one day indeed because he is a raw talent. But worth 60m? Never. There are plenty cheaper players around in that bracket like Neres, Lozano,...

We might aswell spend 60m on Redmond and people will say oh we got serious now, he has to be great given the money we paid for him. Obviously not true.

We just love to overpay decent players. 60m for Pulisic is ok, but 70m for Pepe we cant do, too expensive. 40m for Drinkwater cool, but we coudnt pay for Sterling around that a year earlier. Bernardo Silva cost City 50m last year. Thats a top top talent.

If we got Pulisic for 30m or if he was world class talent, fair enough, but its neither. He wasnt bought because we have shown ambition mate. Its all business reasons.

My point is that the club did prepare for Hazard departure though. Maybe they even know the ban is coming since January. Why we're not buying more players then? Well it is because everyone at the club, including Sarri himself, were still doubting whether he will stay or not at that point.

Whether the player is doing shit or not is another thing imo. Basically every club always gamble when signing players. It's not only us that unlucky. Barca with Dembele, Coutinho. PSG with Neymar, MU with Pogba, Lukaku. And so on.

So, still fuck all happening then.

Knowing us it'll drag on the whole summer. Remember last summer how long it took to sort the Conte situation? Everyone knew he was off from the day the season ended and yet it took ages. And remember the summer before that when we waited and waited and waited to sign a striker and then put in that embarrassing last second bid for Lukaku after he had already decided to go to United?

This time we'll probably fuck about for a month and then have a panic appointment with Blanc or something. 😂

Sorry I dont buy that at all. Those were not Conte signings. They were panic buys end off imo. There is a reason he was so pissed you know....lack of support is the answer.

And we have plenty Cash, we just spend it on dross. Football hasnt changed, you give a good squad to Conte or Simone and see the results. Conte had Pogba Vidal Pirlo etc in Juve, thats quality. Not Drinkwater and the likes we shoved in his throat which costed over 80M Pounds, and lost Matic in the process.

Competition will always be there.....its how you build your team with the right setup that will define your future. We can easily get back to where we were, it may take 1-2 seasons but its def doable with the correct aproach, yes even with the so called dinosaur managers ( which by the way is our bread and butter and we were the best at it ).

Of course Bakayoko was a Conte signing, if he wasn't he would have binned him quickly like he did Michy.

Or maybe he just didnt have any other options so he was kinda forced in to it. Now he may have been a Conte signing, but I doubt he was going to rush him in like that, as he himself pointed out. No matter what mate, we fucked him over and are poorer for it. This Club under Marina etc just do not know how to let a winning manager do his shit, we always handicap ourselves.

That's life, if you can't get plan a you go for plan b if not b then c and so on. For example i can't imagine a Wijnaldum who had just been relegated with Newcastle was a first choice for Klopp for example but instead of acting like a schoolchild and moaning about how shit he was every chance he got he instead got on with it focused on getting the best out of him and hey presto, key cog in his European cup winning machine.

Yeah but funny we always go for plan c and d, at least with Conte. We handicaped the team in his second season. We should have backed him, he deserved it. And you cant compare klops situation to Conte's. Klops been there for 4-5 seasons, gets to get his players, the board supports his every decision, afforded time etc. We are the only mother fuckers in the elite world that do the opposite. RA fucked up a bit by putting yes men and puppets as leaders.....the proof is in front of us all.

Conte wanted Tolisso primarily, but settled for Bakayoko.

Exactly.....I really believe we could have had something special with Conte. His style suited the EPL and with backing could have done major damage in CL, a proper motivator, a winner and the fans clicked with him on the spot. He may have acted badly here and there, but most would given how we fucked the league up with tactics that were copied all over, we needed backing and gave him dross.

Liverpool's great window last summer seems to give the illusion Klopp's always been fully backed with plan A's which couldn't be further from the truth.

The first summer he got in Matip, Manniger, Karius, Klavan, Mane (when he was still an inconsistent winger) and Wijnaldium andonly two for over £10m, had we signed those 6 players at that point would you honestly have been happy about it? That would be considered a disaster window for us yet he's turned 3 of those into very important players for him and despite such a poor window improved Liverpool's position by 4 places. The following summer he asked for three players to take his side to the next level and began the season with one, although admittedly got the other 2 at a later date. Even the eventual VVD signing were funded by the sale of their best player.

He's had all told 1 truly great window out of 6 since arriving.

And yet I'll bet those players were his choices, not players shoved upon him. We are Chels, the manager wont have much say, sometimes its for the better, more of than not its to the detriment of the squad.
