Vesper 30,186
Juventus want Chelsea's Emerson as Alex Sandro deputy https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/juventus-want-chelsea-s-emerson-as-alex-sandro-deputy-39147 Juventus already have one eye on the transfer market, as the club look to bolster their strength after a number of injuries in the opening months of the campaign has left them rather barebones in defence particularly. The club are looking for an alternative left-back to ease the workload on Alex Sandro, as well as providing a valuable option for if the Brazilian suffers any injuries. The Bianconeri have a number of targets lined up but their first and primary goal is Emerson Palmieri. The Ital-Brazilian full-back joined Chelsea at the request of Maurizio Sarri, when he became head coach, but has only flourished in the squad this season. It will be difficult for Juve to sign the defender, however, given Chelsea's transfer ban and the Premier League club would struggle to replace him properly. Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are also looking into the possibility of signing Carlos Augusto, of Brazilian side Corinthians, as well as the ever-present name of Matteo Darmian, who joined Parma from Manchester United in the summer just gone. Blue Armour 4,442
I just think this guy is a bit lazy with defence. Doesnt rush out quickly enough to block a cross. Failed to do it in the city game, and failed to do it today. No surprise he's fallen out of the starting
Fernando 6,585
I guess he will be good for juventus because they dominate. So if we can get a top Lb I see him going back to Italy.

I am game to give Maatsen a shot versus a shit team, but I am truly worried at how short he is, I need to see a lot more of him If he was 1.78m to 1.83m or so, I would be far less worried what happens IF we swing and miss on Chillwell but Maatsen is only 1.68m tall and Roberto Carlos he is not he looks like he could be Zouma's 12 year old son (not that Zouma is old enough to have a 12 year old son, lolol) Â

It is NOT Azpi's fault he is shit at LB. It is not his natural position. Lamps owns this one (including the no Emerson sub-in). I wish to fuck all humans were ambipedal. It would solve so many issues in the game overall, including lowering the insane premium on left-footed players' transfer fees at elite levels. Vesper 30,186
Matt Law, European Football Editor - Emerson Palmieri 'unlikely to leave Chelsea in January' https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/chelsea/transfer-talk/news/emerson-unlikely-to-leave-chelsea-in-january_383605.html  Emerson Palmieri is reportedly unlikely to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window despite the speculation surrounding the left-back's future. The 25-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Blues during the 2019-20 campaign, including 10 outings in the Premier League. Juventus are believed to be interested in bringing the Italy international back to Serie A, though, and there have been suggestions of a potential bid at the start of 2020. However, according to Goal.com, while Juve are keen on a move for the defender, a deal is unlikely to take place in the middle of the current campaign. Marcos Alonso has also been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge amid suggestions that Frank Lampard's side want to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester City. snip
NikkiCFC 8,324
Yep he is not leaving or Alonso because we won't bring new left back in January. It's obvious we will wait summer and Chilwell. Vesper

That would cost £45 to £55m net, so for only £53m to £63m net we would have two superb LBs. Telles would so upgrade the team NOW and we so need that. There will be enough games and minutes to keep them both happy as long as we qualify for Europe, especially if it is the EL. Say what you like about Marcos and god knows he's frustrating as fuck, but atleast he has an upside of some substance even if we only see it about 20% of the time. Emerson may aswell change his name to John Doe while on the pitch, plain and ordinary is an understatement. ja1 1,166
I’ve backed him and I still think there is a good LB in him. He’ll get back to his best/reach his potential at some point in his career. However I don’t want it to be upto us to get that out of him, to either wait for him to build his confidence up and also have an injury free period. When he isn’t good he’s anonymous.  i will also say though I think he has been scapegoated heavily for the goal today (on Twitter). I think that goal was coming as soon as the first header was won for any team in the world / any defender in Emerson’s position.
