What makes you think that? If anything they should be more confident about getting the full asking price now because they must sense the desperation at Chelsea. With Costa as good as gone and missing out on Lukaku the club need a new striker to target and Real Madrid know there aren't many available so they probably won't budge on the price, and rightly so.

Kinda goes both way though. Chelsea have more options than Madrid have if they want to sell Morata. And the player definitely wants to leave.Milan and United were heavily linked with Morata, but now both are off the market. If not Chelsea who are they going to sell to?

They could keep him, but the player wants to leave and that is a unfamiliar territory for Madrid.

Also we also have the option of keeping Costa, unlikely it may seem now but i seriously doubt they will let Costa go without proper replacement.

Morata is a Madrid lad through and through, he respects the club too much to make a fuss if he has to stay. Madrid aren't desperate to sell either, it's been Zidane's wish all along to keep him but the player himself is the one who's been wanting to move but he'll stay there if he must.

They want to buy Mbappe though, and there is that. Can they keep him? yes, but not sure if that is ideal for either side.

From what I've seen/heard, Madrid were still unhappy with the whole De Gea Saga and they weren't willing to sell Morata to United for less than the asking price.

As for Chelsea, maybe they'd be willing to do a deal if they get a 'gentleman's agreement' for Hazard in a few seasons time.

Rumour has it that Real is looking to sell James and Morata, to make space for Dani Ceballos, who apparently sees a move to Real only viable if he gets minutes. If not, the lad is Barcelona bound. Read it from Marca yesterday if my memory doesn't fail me.

But then again, it´s fucking Marca.

Romelu Lukaku is perfect for Man Utd like Alvaro Morata is for Chelsea: Danny Higginbotham

I totally agree with Higginbotham  on this one morata would be better fit than lukaku at chelsea

While I'd be happy with Morata I definitely think he's riskier than either Lukaku or Belotti. He just doesn't strike me spas the alpha dog, leading man type. More of a nice piece of an already good side.

Suppose he hasn't really been given the opportunity at Real Madrid so that can change here of course.
