If reports are true, the clubs looking to sell him in January. Haller and Jovic are good players but not sure if we will go for them. We will have to see. Also no chance we sign Martial to play CF... should look to sign him though, hed be an excellent addition and give us more quality in wide areas (think hes definitely an inside forward from the wing as opposed to playing through the middle).

Morata if he does go, has been a big disappointment, for a player of his skillset and where he has played, what he has won, I am extremely disappointed that he hasnt managed to maintain the start he had and even after some good performances this season... he seems to struggle and go back to being poor. He has got the right attributes to be a top player but his mindset, its a big issue and affects his performances too much.

Morata is the perfect example of how important the mental aspect of top level football is.

He's technically very good, big, quick, excellent in the air...but I'm not sure if I've ever seen a player with such a strong lack of belief in himself.

Just to compare him with Giroud. Morata is a far more well rounded player and potentially much more to his game, but Giroud cops a lot of flak just like Morata for not scoring enough, etc. However you would never see Giroud's head drop. He'll continue to back himself, fight for the cause and never hides or shirks his responsibilities.

It's why a manager will always take a player like Giroud in their squad than a player like Morata.

Giroud has a far better technique when striking the ball. Morata has two left feet.

I'd use these words to describe Lewandowski not Morata.

No the point you madr was that tje aforementioned adjectives described Lewandowski not Morata when indeed they are a better description of Morata. Anyone knows Lewa is 100 times the player Morata is but not because of these adjectives. Lewa is better because of his mindset and strikers instinct

Yeah I see that as well. Morata has all the tools, but is missing a few marbles.

I’d just add that this weak mentality might also affect him in training, which might also explain his lack of progress on the physical side of his game since he joined.

Giroud has had a huge rise, like Kante, even guys like Koscielny at Arsenal.. having worked incredibly hard to get to the level he is now coming from lower divisions and being known as a late bloomer perhaps. It shows in how he plays and you can tell with his workrate.

Morata came through Real Madrids academy, different set up, everything done for him.. fair enough making it is hard at Real and even what he did at Jucentus but the mindset of those guys, who fought ridiculously hard to improve, to jump up the leagues/levels and show they belong there, its some uprising and maybe a defining characteristic that helps them in some way or at least makes them unders5and id they arent playing well or scoring they still nees to work hard. That sort of mentality is a massive underrated quality that a lot of guys from some of the huge academy's maybe dont have because everything's on a plate.

I think its something Drogba had, he didnt turn pro to later, improved, grew into a good player and then got to go to the big stages and once he got there well how many better big game players were there in the PL at that time? He had a winning mentality too. Fair enough theres other circumstances but it shows hard work and mentality is so vital to footballers.

Giroud and Kante at the start of their careers would have laughed if you said theyd be World Cup winners. Koscielny would have laughed if you said he would wear tbe captains armband at a big club in the PL and for France one day.

That isn't the problem. Juve & Madrid knew his place whilst we have him a chance to take the next step.

He just doesn't have what it takes to lead a line at the top level or even EL level tbh.

Barcelona are ready to launch a January move for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, most likely on an initial loan until the end of the season. Mmm according to the daily star , think the reporter is a bit of tit!

Morata approaches Barca

Struggling Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has approached Barcelona regarding a move as he looks to revive his career.

The Spanish forward has failed to live up to early expectations at Stamford Bridge, and according to Catalan radio station RAC1, he believes he needs a change of scenery to get back on track.

He has reportedly approached Barcelona to see if they could hand him a lifeline back in Serie A.
