You should watch him miss sitters, fall down at every chance and collect dumb cards again, nothing to do with the squad not being supportive enough.
The Arsenal away game alone was bad enough

It was bad, but would be understandable if it were an isolated case. It was not, therefore I don't blame anybody but him. Hazard has a stronger case of the team not playing to his strengths.

We knew after the first few weeks of the season that his finishing was lacking despite a handful of goals against the likes of Burnley, Stoke, etc. Have to give him props for not being a static CF, so our lack of creative isn't as evident with him leading the line.

Talk of Icardi coming to the club shouldn't even be up for discussion if a WC playmaker isn't added to our ranks in the summer. Cesc used to fill that quota but he's clearly past it to be a regular.

I’ve already seen all of it and think some is definitely caused by the team not producing enough chances.

manyn of those chances he created himself via his own dribbling and sprints like against arsenal. That kind of work rate takes a toll on a striker and can affect his finishing.

on the lack of physicality and difficulty with the pl, that I already commented on before: all fixable even short term as it has been done many times before. Even finishing varies a lot depending on a number of factors and can be improved on.

what you can’t change is technique and he’s a good player.

he hasn’t showed us nothing shocking (like say bakayoko) to make us this desperate... at least I don’t see it that way.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, 29, will force through a move to Real Madrid this summer. Chelsea's 25-year-old Spain international Alvaro Morata is one of the strikers the German giants are lining up as a replacement if they lose the Pole. (AS - in Spanish)

Yet people think he’s shite. Says it all. Had a good first half and got a decent goal.

But had a shite second half. I know most players did to (and I'm getting to them in their threads) but Morata in the 2nd half was shockingly poor. Well not shockingly because we should know by now how he normally plays. Shite.

True. Funny pattern we seem to go missing in second halfs of big games. Not good enough for a club like Chelsea.

I feel his general play has improved in the last couple of games, he has seemed more motivated to compete and stay on his feet far more.

There is definitely a good footballer in there, but there are question marks over his attitude in my opinion. But again, it's first season, some players take to it and others take a much longer process of settling in (Drogba!). I don't think it's a coincidence that he dropped off completely around the time when he would be usually used to having a winter break whereas over here the games come even quicker. Add to that at the time, Batshuayi wasn't fancied so there was far more reliance on Morata and from what has come out he's been playing with an injury.

I think there is such a huge job this summer that unless somebody truly world class is available on the market to replace him or he makes noises he wants out, we should stick with him and give him a chance.

As annoying as his attitude/behavior has been this season, especially in 2018, I'm still willing to give him another season for reasons that you have already pointed out. I'd also argue that the current striker role he's asked to play doesn't maximize his strengths. Though he has good technique and decent link-up play, he's essentially been deployed like a target man, to play like how Costa, Drogba used to do for us and that's not his strengths.

Think hes improved the last few games, like mentioned he seems to be staying on his feet a bit more and his link up play at times is impressive. Finishing maybe could still do with some work but I think the physical demands and no winter break this season will be better for him for next season. Hopefully we give him another chance, hes a different style of striker to Drogba and Costa, which in any way is hard acts to follow for different reasons and I think he'll be a bigger success next season for definite. I can't imagine the club would offload him for a loss like its being reported in the media, its so clear there is a very good footballer in him, its just maybe been a bit of a contrasting season from his first half and second half of the season but its been like that for a lot of the players.

Think he's still working back to the player he was. Especially before the winter break...was very deadly when he first started playing for us. As a young player, I think he still deserves more than a second chance.

Just need to see how confident he was playing in the first game against Utd:

Heck even Bakayoko was playing so well back then.

Let's cut that young player crap, he's 25 and still searching for his feet so to speak. He needs to do something with his career fast or he'll forever be just a potential.

For all his troubles this season, worth mentioning that he has contributed 17 goals in all competitions this season (11 goals, 6 assists). That's way more than anyone else in the team, which I suppose doesn't say much given the squad's average-ness, but for someone in his first season in English football, that's a decent return.

Young was a poor choice of words. I meant someone who still doesn't have much experience of leading the line as first choice striker. Plus, at 25 there is still every chance of improvement. You can't say he's at his peak.
