Tiemoue Bakayoko

Can't actually believe how frustrating is watching this guy trying to play... And also can't believe Monaco made such a deal from him, like HOW? The worst part is that Conte keeps playing him, imagine if someone from the academy like Chalobah got so much chance in the 1st team as Bakayoko, but of course Chalobah wasn't bought for 40mln, that means he doesn't deserve the chance to play...

Doesn't even resemble a footballer. @Leif made a good point about players that bad at that age never developing adequate technical ability. The way he receives the ball, makes passes and attempts shots is amateurish. Did you see the ball bouncing off him yesterday after Caballero rolled it to his feet? It was like a ricochet pass to Luiz instead, so bad. He can't keep one-touch passes on the ground, they almost always bounce awkwardly making them more difficult to receive and control. And whenever he gathers the courage to attempt a long pass it is an automatic loss of possession. He doesn't have stamina or desire, I never see him busting a gut to get back, go forward or track somebody... no intensity, zero!

He's a passenger every game, all players around him, even the average ones, are several levels above him. Everybody else has to carry and compensate his lack of contribution every game. Just another detrimental player we can't rely on...

Quality of opposition and the form of Hazard and Willian should be taken into account. When he isn't asked to do anything difficult he's fine. When the level of opposition is better and he has to pick out tougher passes and be more than just someone who breaks up play that's the real test.

not impressed at all... sry.

Ah shoot. Are you sure? What a shame......

90% of your posts are either twitter posts or crap like the above. How about you construct a proper sentence as to why you arent impressed. He did really well today. Passing was decent, intercepted well, even had a decent attempt on goal.

Without knowing whether it was Bakayokos poor technique that did not impress xPerer today as it seems to impress a lot of folks here, and positively too!

but perhaps because of the obvious: the level of the opposition, which led a number of our players to have outstanding games? Except of course Bakayoko who is being praised here for having been only good/decent - more like decent on my tv.

But I can see now how this is going to turn into a new mikel thread, and rightfully so - Good for TC, not so much for chelsea fc.

As said by some I dont see how peeps were impressed by him. Passes may have been decent but the vast majority were either sideways or backwards. And was against a very offencively weak team.

I understand Contes need to try to get our moneys worth and bring him upto strength but I dont understand why he doesn't be similar with other players.

The quicker we try to get Vidal in the better IMHO..

I don't think it's that people were particularly impressed with him in comparison to other players today, but I do feel that the last two games have shown improvement compared to recent weeks.

I said the same after the Norwich game, and I stand by it again after today, I'm pleased that he seems to be growing in confidence. He was getting on the ball today and showing himself for it. It sounds ridiculous really, but his confidence has look shot in recent weeks. He's looked abysmal on the ball and been scared to receive it. A lot of his passes have been simple in the last couple of games but its important he goes back to basics, works hard and shows the strength of character to play himself out of the dreadful form he's been in. I do feel like he is taking these steps.

In the long term we should all expect far more from him given the amount of money invested in him. But he's young and clearly taking time to adapt to a new league (remembering also he joined after surgery in the summer and was rushed back to play), and hopefully a little time and patience will see him still develop into the player we all hope he will be.
