We sign him. When was 26 years old

bakayoko is 22

so  there is a possibility to become a good player in the future.

Also kante is 25 years old no 22

he's 23 , he should be showing signs of quality , its not like he is 16 , saying a  poor standard youngish player might get better in the future, does not justify the signing or continued selection

We've spent a combined £70m+ on Bakayoko and Batshuayi who between them struggle to control a football. They both fail at basic, simple passes. 😕

We should be actively finding a loan destination for Bats. Don't know what to do with Baka.

Don't forget Drinkwater. We've got 100m+ spent on nothing.

Say what you will about Drinkwater but at least he's good at the basics like controlling a pass and making simple ones himself. At the moment, any time a teammate isn't standing still while Baka passes them the ball it's wayward.

I used to defend this guy, but he isn't showing any progress and is showing poor after poor performances. I wasn't able to watch the game today, but from what I've seen through the season and from the reactions here, I can definitely understand why he is frustrating to watch. I just hope Conte will bench him and give Drinkwater more chance next to Kante.

He hasn’t football brain. And no ball control.

But he is monster.

Really not good at the moment, but I don't think he should be given up on. He has the physical attributes to dominate games, he just needs to become far more polished.

For me he needs taking out of the firing line at the moment because he is clearly short of confidence and struggling, and fans are losing patience. If Barkley is fit, we now have five senior options for those midfield berths so hopefully we can get him out for a bit.

I'm not even seeing any physical attributes from him.

I mean that he has the physique to impose himself and seeing him at Monaco last season, he obviously has the stamina to get up and down the pitch.

But at the moment, technically he's way off.

As some of us said last summer we should have gone for Fabinho.

Fabinho wasn’t available at £40m though. Was heavily linked with Utd too but he’s still at Monaco. I reckon he’d cost closer to £60m/£70m in today’s market which we know the club would never spend.

Yup I agree, needs good time on the bench. Like Conte said, club placed a bit too much faith on him to deliver instantly, and we should’ve kept someone like Matic ahead of him to slowly integrate him into the team.

Good thing is that Conte is being patient with him right now.

I'm sure they would have taken Michy. He has no place at this club whilst Conte is in charge.

Drogba had a bit of a iffy start maybe be like him.. All of sudden bam he can play!!! Or probably bit to hopeful..

Essien was very ordinary in his first season at Chelsea too I felt and in his second season became an absolute beast in the middle.

Even people like Lampard, who was 'premier league proven' took a long time (I'd say the best part of 18 months) to kick on.

Lots more players take time to adjust than those that hit the ground running, and even players that do hit the ground running will generally then go through a tough spell in this league (Costa, Morata, etc).

He needs time before he can be truly judged in my opinion, but for now needs a rest.

Exactly. The fact that the manager hasn’t binned him after some really bad performances means we should probably do the same and give Bakayoko at least a season or so to get acclimated to the PL. I’d be far more worried if he was at this level at let’s say, age 27/28.

He still hasn’t played anywhere near his Monaco level, so he needs to focus on getting back to there (that’s the player we paid £40m for), and then build on from there.
