I see comments by Rio Ferdinand saying he's the best center back in the league - seems like a cunningly thought out comment to up the pressure on Chelsea to spend the money or risk losing face by letting him walk.

At 28, I'm okay giving a high wage to Rudi on a 4 year deal.

Mainly since we could lose Silva next year and Azpi at some point too.

200k+ p/w for rudiger is fucking crazy, when christiensen agreed to 140k.

Werner earns more…

Also, if we lose Rüdiger(and Thiago) for free, we’ll need to pay big money to get players this level. Having Rüdi in our squad would not cost a dime, “only” improved wages.

Yep this.

Also knowing that this is his most consistent phase at the club. Many here including me was open to selling him in 2020

Apparently wants something around Lukaku and Werner's wage.. yikes...

So just putting it out there.. What do you guys think is a fair wage for Rudi? Its max 200 for me...

Even 200k seems high to me, I really dislike players who turn it off and on, like Pogba, when it suits. Due to his age I would say 3 year deal at 175k and typically as we've seen we have a habit of including a year option extension.

Apparently Rüdiger is pissed that we offered Kounde wages of 6m net of taxes

now he want more than that himself.

The dwarf is already casting his tiny shadow ahead.

Few things wrong with this. For one, it was reported by BILD, who know virtually nothing outside of Germany. Two, these pre-contract's are typically non-disclosure until its been finalised. Three, if its reported by BILD Kounde would earn 6 million a year, that is a little over 100K per week when converted from euros to sterling. Why on earth would Rudiger be "Angry" about that when he earns well over that?

6m euros Net of taxes it’s more like 10m Euros gross which is more like 190k euros gross pw.

Rüdigers Agent is a small time firm called fsb,  they might well have leaked something to Bild to push his negotiation position, would not be the first time. Would call it a plausible rumour.

But that is still less than the 170Kpw the club initially offered him, so I don't understand the whole Rudiger is Angry claims.

6m NET is what the poster said (I assume they are quoting euros)

€12m gross roughly

£10.3m

So

€ 231K PW gross

£198K PW gross

That makes sense as Rudiger is asking for £200K PW at minimum, and we offered £140K PW so far.

Zero chance we go to £400K PW (I have serious doubts other clubs are offering that, as that, in euros, is €24.3 million gross per year. €121.5m over 5 years.)
