Mário César 1,271
There are some reports from Spain that suggest Real Madrid are interested in him. They'll wait until next season and catch him after he ends his contract with us
NikkiCFC 8,324
After Alaba, Real will go hard to sign for free Rudiger, Mbappe and Goretzka. Plus Haaland on cheep. 5 players worth over half billion for just 75m euros?

Blue Armour 4,439
Any idea why we're struggling with extending his contract? Or even Christensen for that matter. And to add, we've also lost an experienced defender in Zouma, another member of our CL winning squad. I see City and Liverpool managing to extend contracts of their key defenders, but we're seemingly at risk of losing these guys year. What gives? Hope we can get Christensen over the line soon. I don't know if Rudiger sees potentially better options out there, but we better offer a high wage package or something to entice him to stay. Sure there might be other CBs with better ability, but I don't want us to sacrifice that mentality and leadership he has displayed over the past few months. That sort of thing is difficult to buy. Vesper 30,182
Antonio Rudiger closer than ever to disappointing free transfer exit from Chelsea https://www.Chelsea-news.co/2021/09/antonio-rudiger-closer-than-ever-to-disappointing-free-transfer-exit-from-Chelsea/ Antonio Rudiger still has not agreed a new contract at Chelsea, and according to 90min.com, an agreement is not getting any closer. Letting the defender’s contract run down a little seemed sensible a year ago, when he wasn’t in the team anyway, but his revival since then means that locking him in to a long term deal has become essential. If the club doesn’t come to an agreement with the former Roma man before January, he can start speaking to other teams about a free transfer – and it’s easy to see him being tempted by a big offer from elsewhere. Certainly the situation is now playing into his hands quite nicely, and he’s unlikely to give up the superb leverage of his situation – at least until he can turn it into a deal he’s happy with. As it stands, it looks increasingly likely that Rudiger heads into the sunset next summer.
nyikolajevics 2,700
Would be disappointing if he left.. He might not be top5 defender in the world but his mentality and leadership was essential for winning CL. Players like Kante, Kova, Jorginho, James, Chilwell, Kai, Mount, Werner might be very good footballers but they are not the craz guys who will scream into the opponents faces when it’s necessary. Ofc we don’t need to become Bad Boy Pistons of football but some guys like him needed in the team.
Magic Lamps 11,692
Would be a loss but he is replaceable. Will be 29 next summer already so if he overplays his hand we should let him leave, not be held to ransom. plenty of good cbs available. As long as we have TT and the back 5, even half decent defenders will look solid as long as they are quick and  good on the ball.
Atomiswave 6,117
Man this is bullshit man, what the fuck does he want? And I for one will not claim he is replaceable, and is indeed a world class defender, minimum top5 for sure. Is in his prime, playing for WC manager, plays for an elite club going places, the fans are fond of him etc.......what the fuck is wrong with you Rudi? At least if you have your eyes set elswhere then be honest about it.

I don't think he is top5 tho.... he has played 7 world class months for us but other than that has not really been on this level consistently. Not for Roma not for us under Conte or Sarri or Löw. He had good patches but never been this good. Once he is taken out of our system as in the German team he suddenly looks rather normal. HIs personality might be harder to replace tho

I really dont care how he would look for other teams, what does he do for Chels, and he has been utterly quality for us. His leadership abilities are worth a gold......he will regret leaving if it comes to that. Fernando

Top 20 CB's under 33yo no real order (AC and Rüdiger make the cut, but not top ten IMHO, mainly becuase they are at their best in a back 3) Rúben Dias  Virgil van Dijk Alessandro Bastoni Marquinhos  Matthijs de Ligt Raphaël Varane  José MarÃa Giménez   ' Milan Skriniar   David Alaba   Harry Maguire  Stefan de Vrij    Kalidou Koulibaly  Andreas Christensen Jules Koundé Aymeric Laporte Antonio Rüdiger Dayot Upamecano Alessio Romagnoli Pau Torres Lucas Hernández  Old warhorses who can still be WC in a one game setting Thiago Silva Sergio Ramos   Gerard Piqué  Leonardo Bonucci Giorgio Chiellini  Atomiswave
OneMoSalah 8,886
Tuchel questioned PSG letting players such as Thiago Silva and Edison Cavani leave on a free… this led to him and Leonardo disagreeing over recruitment and eventually his dismissal as manager. Based on how much of a fan Tuchel is of Toni, not convincing him to sign a new deal would be stupid. Not that it would necessarily go that way for instance re TT and Leonardo but if he is a key component for Tuchel, it would make sense to try everything to get a deal over the line. Edited September 7, 2021 by OneMoSalah Blue Armour and Vesper
DH1988 1,348
I'm in favour of keeping Toni, but not at ridiculous wages, he is important to the team sure and has shown massive improvement since TT came in, but still, it has to be reasonable and hopefully he sees it that way as well.
