Dropping like flies here

we know how it goes. one fkin international break to wreck a whole season.  loving it. just should pay players more to abstain themselves from int duty altogether.

You said it man, I despise these useless purposeless BS of intl games.....and it keeps on wrecking us.

It’s true he had a terrible game and one of the main reasons we got dominated in midfield whenever Soton turned it on.

Its all on Roman, he said no no no, Kante stays, and Roman is the owner, so we have to suffer with the decision

It has been obvious to me that he needed to be sold now for some time, but it is not my club

it just makes no sense to keep a player who is 99% built for counterattacking football when the club itself is spending hundreds of millions to get away from that style

And who would have paid big money for Kante?

at this point, due to COVID-19, not many

BUT we could have worked out a swap deal for sure

Partey + Felipe for Kante (and Sarr on a free loan to grease it) is what I would have tried for, hell pick up Sarr's wages if that is what it took to do the deal

next summer Felipe is too old to do it IMHO (plus Partey is gone, and that fucks us hard as he vastly strengthens Arse as well), as he still will be solid then BUT not so much in 2022-23 and forward

those 2 years (2020-21 and 2021-22, and MAYBE even squeezing it to 3) of him would have been perfect though, as a transition/bridge player)

As far as I remember, Atleti only wanted cash for Partey. Also, I think they do not even need another DM.

I'm very skeptical about going for defensive players from Atletico, Simeone's system has made Stefan Savic and Kieran Trippier look world class. Infact apart from Courtois has any GK/defender/defensive minded midfielder been even half as good away from Simeone as with?

Felipe was a beast at Porto, the best CB in Liga NOS

Toby Alderweireld has been really good since he left AM

Lucas Hernandez, as long as he stays fit, will come good in a big way, I still believe this

in terms of older players leaving AM Miranda was still solid at Inter, and Godin was hardly a bust (and he is old)

Savic never looked WC to me, Filipe has always been better, but Savic is solid due to Simeone, so I give you that one

Theo Hernandez is a vastly better player than he was at AM as a  youth, they fucked up there badly letting him go

José Giménez  IF (a big if) he stays healthy would be a beast on any squad IMHO

Filipe Luís is one for your side of the argument, Sime Vrsaljko as well, but the these two are fullbacks, not CB's

Santiago Arias regressed under Simeone, one of the rare ones, as did Mario Hermoso
