Chelsea Star In No Rush To Leave, Ready To Fight For Game Time

http://www.insidefutbol.com/2019/08/17/chelsea-star-in-no-rush-to-leave-ready-to-fight-for-game-time/434049/

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is not ready to leave Stamford Bridge yet, with the Belgian striker ready to see if he can force his way into the team before the European transfer window closes.

The Belgian has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since joining the club in 2016 and has been out to several clubs on loan deals.

He still has time left on his deal with Chelsea and there has been interest in him from Roma, who have put in an enquiry to take him to Italy this summer.

But according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the striker is not in any rush to leave Chelsea while he sees none of the attackers ahead of him in the pecking order pulling up trees.

damn, it looks likely that IF Roma agree to make the deal a loan with the obligation to buy, Bats may be gone

Italian national paper (the pretty reliable Corriere dello Sport), with Google translate

Roma, if Schick leaves, Batshuayi arrives

Petrachi is working to find a replacement in case of a farewell to the Czech. Timo Werner is a practically impossible hypothesis

https://www.corrieredellosport.it/news/calcio/calcio-mercato/2019/08/15-60047391/roma_se_parte_schick_arriva_batshuayi/

ROME - Schick at Dortmund , Batshuayi at Roma . It is the working hypothesis on which Petrachi is working, assisted by agent Vigorelli who is also the manager of Zaniolo and Santon . Batshuayi, who played for six months in Borussia, had been very close to Rome in January 2018 , when Monchi was negotiating the sale of Dzeko to Chelsea . Now his appeal is falling, after a season in chiaroscuro between the loan at Valencia and the following semester at Crystal Palace: in all it produced 9 networks in 36 presences . Back at Chelsea, he is not part of Lampard's plans and is on the market. However, it is unlikely that it will still move on loan, having changed three teams and many cities in eighteen months. Would prefer a transfer outright . Class '93, it is valued at 25 million .

Much therefore depends on Schick , who rejected Newcastle and other solutions in view of a transfer to the Bundesliga , with the idea of playing in Champons. If Borussia Dortmund borrows it with a redemption obligation, Rome can attempt the same operation with Batshuayi , who has been a pupil of Baldini since the time of Marseille. Almost impossible instead the road that leads to Timo Werner , a young striker of the German national team: Bayern has already blocked him for the next season on a free transfer , at the end of his contract with Leipzig. Petrachi had actually been informed but he realized that there was no margin to break into the matter.

cannot say I am happy about this:(

Ironic if that is where he goes there and Bats to Roma, and Bat's happiest time as a pro was at Borussia Dortmund

I cannot for the life of me figure out why they do not make a move for him, he was a beast there until he got injured

It is simple for me

I want a ruthless striker who scores a shedload of goals and helps out the high press

only one I see on the team who even has that potential AND has at least scored a lot at high level (Dortmund and Palace, he scored at a pace that equals 25 goals in 45 games) is Bats

Tammy just doesn't produce at a high level

will that change? who knows but I do not see it atm TBF

It would be great if so many weren't naive. Have to laugh at those that say he isn't "a proven finisher".

Oh no, he’s definitely a good finisher and a proven one at that.

Unfortunately, he’s also not a very good football player, which makes him quite the wrong choice for a high press.

We need nothing more than a proven finisher right now. Two games in and we're already talking about "bad luck" when it has nothing to do with that.

If you don't take your chances, you'll lose more often than not. Mount & Pedro created NINE chances between them against Utd, so please do remind me what the score was.

P.S. Costa wasn't exactly El Fenomeno reincarnated btw

We hit the woodwork 3 times already and scored 2 offside goals. There is an element of bad luck to it. But yeah we need a finisher. I would honestly start Michy vs Leicester.

Two identical chances presented themselves in our last two games where great balls were played in with no one in the box.

Such instances are crying out for a poacher. If Lampard was actually speaking the truth, this is the ideal opportunity

I think this is a Lukaku situation. ROM scores goals but neither United fans nor management were ever truly happy with him. I think that's how it was for Bats at BVB and how I guess it would be for him here too.

Bats is criticised because he isn't good at the whole job, but that's how it is with all of our strikers. If there are times when Frank wants to use Tammy's strengths, and times when he wants to go with Ollie's strengths, then why wouldn't there be times when he chooses to deploy Michy's? The thing is, he hasn't really shown any sign of wanting to do that yet. Worse, he's used the code phrase, "Michy is here. He is one of our strikers.", and we all know what that's code for.

Perhaps Frank and Jody want to leave a path for Charlie Brown to serve as our third choice striker. I've seen Charlie twice this season (once on TV) and he's seemed a bit lacklustre to me. I like Charlie, but using him as number three looks bold. That's OK, I've no problem with Frank being bold. Assuming this is his decision of course.

I'd really like to see Bats get a chance.

I think that on preseason he really did show a workrate a wiilingness to get involved.

Admittedly that was preseason but it was enough for me to like to give him a chance, can't see why Lamps hasn't tried him in the League.

Last time he impressed in pre season he blew it within 60 minutes.

Anyway is he any worse than the other 2 characters

Yes.

Put Michy one on one with a keeper and he'll tuck it away I'll give him that but the modern game especially at the top level requires so much more, even the very best poachers (RVN, Mario Gomez) get upgraded on eventually by strikers not as good at finishing but a better all round game (Saha/RVN, Mandzukic/Gomez, Lukaku/Rashford prime examples) and every time the team got better (or appear to be getting better in the latters case) as a result.

I'm not convinced by Tammy in the long run and i ain't particularly a big fan of Giroud but tactically I much prefer them, the openings we created against United and Liverpool I have never seen us create so many chances with MB playing, mainly because his movement is so wack it gives the whole team less space to operate.

If he's happy to be our Origi (ie someone to randomenly chuck on in the final 10 to mix things up when the game becomes a bit more end to end) then I wouldn't mind keeping him, but for starting games? Forget it.

Agree with all of this.

Michy is far too limited to be our number 1, sure hes got a poachers instinct and will probably score 1 in 3 chances if they are on a plate across the box but he offers nothing exceptional in the build up or even as an outlet. His link up play is very much average and coming short off the defenders he doesnt do it enough, he just stands still and looks like a spare prick half the time. Every modern day top CF offers more than just goals, they offer the ability to come deep and play or act as an outlet. Its absolutely essential, for instance I am a huge huge fan of Firmino, if Liverpool didnt have him there attack wouldnt be as effective because he drops in midfield to link the play, he can interchange with the wingers, he isnt strong but he is clever enough to offer an outlet when Liverpool are under the cosh. I am surprised Real/Barca havent come in with huge money for him yet. Poachers are slowly dying out of the game at top clubs
