The Mourinho Thread

Jose is the best tactician around the world. That I admit. His stats are a proof of it.

Can he build a team on a shoestring budget? I honestly don't know & I doubt it. Over the years, he always had plenty to spend.

Some say, he already identified Chelsea's needs. One thing I am almost certain, Roman is not going to be very happy to see him spending more money & seeing Chelsea's parking the bus.

This shit better change soon. Otherwise, if it's not, Jose may be shipped out next season. Roman has packed Mateo for this type of strategy & Robbie won the most important club trophy for Chelsea.

I hope, Jose gets his tactics sorted soon.

I'm not going to be too judgmental because he's only been with the players for a year. But how can we look so sterile offensively with the wealth of flair players that we have? It's been shown time and time again, with no seeming improvement in recent weeks. Like I said though, it's too early to form conclusions, so we'll just wait and see how things go next season.

What do we think is the expectations for him next season now we will be signing Costa/Cavani/Madzukic or whoever top class striker and probably a good CM too. For me it MUST BE TITLE, absolutely must be other while it is a failure and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get sacked at the end of it even if we come very close like this one. This season is a transitional season and we need to understand this will be the last one the club have in a while because after that top class striker arrives there are no more excuses.

Imo min expectations for next are:

At least around QF of Capital One Cup

At least around QF or more of FA Cup

MUST BE AT LEAST QF OF CL unless we get Real/Bayern in the last 16, even then we should have enough to get past Bayern, any other side and it is a must win even if it is Atletico again as they will probably be without Costa and maybe more

MUST MUST MUST WIN THE BPL, a 2nd place finish even with 2 points off the top is not good enough. It is this season considering our resources but not the next

I am sure we can all agree? Or at least I believe this is what the club will be aiming for. Failing to meet the last objective imo will cost him his job unless he wins the CL or Capital One+FA Cups.

The football we play just has to be better really. How do you explain the fact that we played better football last season with less resources? The line-up yesterday was quite frankly ridiculous. Jose seems more concerned with not losing than winning and it shows.

Our general build-up play when we play against lesser teams we are expected to play has been appalling for most of the season, tbh. There is simply zero fluency and we have been relying far too much on the individual brilliance of Hazard. How do you explain the fact that teams like Everton and Liverpool play much better football than us. Look at the flair/ball-playing players we have : Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Schurrle, Salah, Matic. Most teams in the league will die for those players. This is why Roman has signed these type of players for Chelsea. To play good football, not to play with Azpilicueta at right wing. That's a joke and a slap in the face to Schurrle and Oscar and to our so-called "evolution".

Taking sentiment out of it, the fact is that through out his career, Jose has never built a team that plays expansive possession based attacking football. It's almost always counter-attacking football. Now this is all fine and dandy when you are winning stuff, but when the trophies stop coming, people will get bored very quickly. Jose said we should judge him by what he will do in his second coming and that is what I'm going to do.

The excuse of having the "physical" and less "technical" players like Drogba, Essien, Ballack, Malouda and so on no longer holds water. The job of a Chelsea manager, and any manager at a big club is to win trophies and play attractive football. We have taking massive strides in the former which is brilliant, but we have failed woefully in the latter. And that could soon become a problem for Roman and that is what I fear.

There's no doubt that the expectations are very high for the CL & PL for next season.

Zouma, Kalas should be slowly introduced to the team on defense.

An attacking midfielder must be bought, I feel.

Matic is going to be played in all competition. Ginkel should be able to bite in too.

BA, Eto'o are just about gone. Torres is staying. Nobody is stupid enough to sign him for the amount he expects to get. Two more years of this dud to laugh at.

The biggest dilemma for Jose is coming up soon. A striker. Is Costa the answer? I don't know. What about if he flops too? It is not an easy task for him to adapt to the new life in London. There's a language barrier, new surroundings, and he might not even want to relocate. I mean, what's wrong with Atletico? This club is getting even better next season. Even courtois may not want to be too keen to come to Chelsea, I feel.

Fuck me. how many whiny, demanding babies!

As @TOPTB has stated - they had 1 manager in 4 years - we've had many more!

Implementing a tactical system and a style of play in REAL LIFE is not like clicking around on a fucking PlayStation!!!

The squad is unbalanced - it will take time to fix.

Footballing style comes when the team know how to defend, know how to play together, are mature and intelligent enough to carry out the game plan.

All of the above takes time - there are no instant fixes in life - you get out what you put in (except maybe a lottery winner)...

Sick of this 'demanding' attitude - we've done well this season - if Jose can stick around for 3-4 seasons we'll be one of he best teams in Europe.

Unless of course you whiny fuckers become more vocal and end up forcing him out of the club by demanding pretty football...

I'm seriously fucked off right now with the attitude of people on here! Get in the fucking real world for once and stop spouting shite continuously... This place used to be awesome - now it's populated by cry babies with a few lone voices of reason (you know who you are - and thank you, without you this place would be insane!)

So there are rumors about Mourinho leaving on twitter. "Big news" hinted by Rob Beasley and others talking about him being fired.

Think we'll soon find out how much truth in that.

I think I finally understand Mourinho's thinking behind starting Azpiliceuta at RW. Oscar was apparently injured, so he decided that instead of starting Schurrle, he was going to use him as an impact sub because of his pace and also because he played the full 90 mins vs Liverpool. Add to the fact that Salah was cup-tied and that we were always going to play a 4-2-3-1 and not a 4-3-3 because of a shortage of bodies in the pivot position, we only had 3 realistic options to play behind the striker. Hazard, Willian and Schurrle.

So it was more of a shortage of options than anything. But when was Oscar allegedly injured? The day before the match, because it was never spoken about in any presser.
