The Mak 4,459
On another note...GET IN THERE JOSE!!I'm not usually one to get carried away, but this is not even hints anymore, he may as well have written 'blue is the colour' on his forehead! I'm particularly excited because I bet a friend while RDM was still in charge that Jose will come back to the Bridge next season or the season after! Behemoth 266
I didn't say I wanted to spend that much, I said thats the market value of those listed players. Bir_CFC
Azpinator 2,325
Out of those 4, the only one I would be excited about is Moutinho... And I would rather have Alex back instead of Pepe (eww). The Mak and Behemoth

11Drogba 2,000
I don't think he will bring anyone from Real. Signing only Falcao and Moutinho would make a huge difference anyway. xPetrCechx and Blue Armour
The Skipper 20,609
@Bir_CFC, I posted this in the Roman thread: I'm not really a financial expert but I'll try and explain; many people really misunderstand the concept of FFP. One must remember that the likes of Malouda, Benayoun, Hilario, Paulo, and possibly Lampard as it stands are being moved on so there will be additional space in the wage budget. Wages aren't really that big of a concern - if they could potentially shift out Fernando for around £15m-£20m then even better as this would free up a lot in wages as well as practically paying off the rest of his amortisation fee - but I'm not banking on that. We are officially allowed to go €45m in the minus with FFP because Roman can cover us, that's the maximum he's allowed to cover us for. That works out to around £38m. Let's for arguments sake say we sign Schurrle (£20m), Moutinho (£25m) and Lewandowski (£25m) on 5 year contracts - this rounds up to £70m in transfer fees. 70/5 = £14m in transfer fees for the year - whilst also having freed up initial space in our wage budget with the release of former players, we could realistically afford it. We'd still have a leeway of £24m. So, in this scenario for example, we spend £100m/£120m on players and give them all 5 year contracts; it would collectively show up as (£25m) max on our balance sheet due to amortisation. Not to mention that stuff like academy fees, managerial payoffs etc. don't count in FFP - add that to the fact that we actually made profit this year and you'll soon realise that we do have quite a bit to play around with. Behemoth 266
I don't understand any plausible way we could head into the next season and challenge for ANYTHING without buying a quality defender and an actual striker. I love Ba, but God bless him, he's not the solution, especially not alone.

Torres, Hazard and what not are still being amortised and that's probably 20-25M on it's own too.And you have to help me understand how we can go 45M in the red and get Roman to save us? FFP is all about revenues and expenses, Roman can inject equity and take off debt but how will be affect the revenues and expenses?

FFP is all about revenues and expenses, Roman can inject equity and take off debt but how will be affect the revenues and expenses? We posted profit this year - and that includes all amortisations of the players we've signed already, our previous transfers are included in there already. The FFP rules instigate that for the next two seasons a club can go €45M in the red if they have an external source that covers them - this amount will be reduced over the years but it's still there for us if we need cover. Also, what many people tend to forget is that FFP does not count any contract signed before June 2010 - so essentially, on our FFP balance sheet we're probably around £10m-20m up if you discount all the wages of the likes of all those signed before that. If you add in the fact that you can discount extenuating circumstances such as managers being sacked (as it's a one off payment) and the fact that FFP doesn't count academy costs either you'll soon realise that we're absolutely fine when it comes to FFP. We've got money to spend. If you're interested in further reading there's an excellent article here which is quite dated (published last year) but still very relevant - it explains our situation regarding FFP excellently. There is no need to worry much about FFP, the club have done a good job regarding that.

Beepu 1,714
The madrid team clearly has no chemistry and divided, it is so obvious in the way they play, no unity whatsoever. Alot of big personality in the dressing room, half of them hates Mou, alot of the fans hate him, the media hates him. Not sure how you can do a job in that environment. Pizy 18,897
Also keep in mind that the RM locker room seemed worse than ours was under AVB. If the players didnt like him or want to play for him it's kinda hard to win the most difficult competition there is.
