I disagree. I think he's technically superior to Cavani and Costa (even though both are technically good and have good technique, Benzema is better), and when Higuain was at Madrid Benzema was clearly the better striker and more favoured, even though Gonzalo was very good there, so that speaks for itself.

But then again, I've been watching Benzema quite closely for like 4/5 years, and I really like his playing style so I guess it just depends on the type of striker you like to watch.

I guess we have to agree to disagree here. This is something you can't back up with stats (better dribbler, things like that) so at the end no one can win this debate.

Benzema has got to be one of the most over rated players in the world.

His finishing is poor,speed is average and only saving grace is his link up play.

Saying benzema is not average cos he plays for RMA, is like saying torres is not average cos he plays for chelsea. The fact that RMA were linked with lewa, suarez and nowfalcao should be proof enough.

As for buying him, he will cost 30-40, just like higuain did for RMA. I would rather that we buy a natural goal scorer who can do that on a consistent basis coning off the bench rather than benzema.

Benzema is a good striker, technically brilliant and would offer something different to Costa. The main complaint from the Real fans is that 9 times out of 10 he goes missing in the big games, look at the 2nd leg of the supercopa for example, he was dreadful. He's not one of the elite strikers but he's in a tier below, would be ideal.

Benzema is one of those players who I think is very fortunate to be at Madrid in my eyes. I think he's in that bracket just below Real Madrid quality. He'd be excellent as the main focal point in a very good side but when he's in a team full of superstars he looks a bit average and goes missing quite a bit.
