DanishBlue 426
That, sir, was very well written. I agree with you (even though I really like Falcao).
Tomo 21,751
@SeB,Isn't Hulk one of those cut in and shoot wingers? didn't stop Falcao scoring over 30 goals. The thing is Falcao without service would still get you 15-20 goals, probably more than Torres even with service will get us. Service also works both ways and Torres isn't doing his bit in that regard.
Leif 6,006
I posted something in the 'we need a new striker' section, and I hope it's not made the wrong impression.I don't actually really want Falcao here. Reason being; he's one of, if not my very favourite strikers in world football right now, and I believe his career would stagnate here. We need a harder worker up-front IMO. TorontoChelsea 4,064
I think it would be a mistake to spend massively on another striker right now. Torres has been playing poorly for 1.5 years, but his lack of scoring is not entirely his fault. If we spent another 40M on a striker and put them in a situation where it would be difficult to succeed, we'd be setting ourselves up for another failure. termninja 5,290
Falcao should be banned from professional football. He is just too good It will be a sin if he doesn't get a shot in the PL
Spike 12,049
Who would you rather? Benzene who drops deep and makes no runs at all? Despite his pathetic display at the Euros I believe than Benzena would be perfect
BlueLyon 9,359
People saying Falcao is similar to Torres and wont suceed here blah blah blah...When Torres came, he wasnt in top form, not even close to. Falcao is at his top form and full confidence that was damaged in Torres when he came. Plus Falcao is different Animal than Torres. While Torres is more a diva, Falcao is much stronger mentaly. And I like Torres, specialy when he was realy top striker, but he is just not a good player anymore. However, Falcao is actualy a player who can score from anywhere, can dribble, but he needs full support and his team must play on counter attacks more, where he gets more space to free run and easy to score. I dont know how he would handle defensive teams with lot of pressure and isolation. In that case, Cavani would be better choice as he is playing very offensively at Napoli and is even stronger than Falcao.

OneMoSalah 8,886
Torres used to be one of the most arrogant, most confident strikers on the planet. No way is he a diva, some of the shit he tried, like that goal vs Fulham from quite an impossible angle... also that flick for Gerrard vs Everton. Hes not a diva, a diva is someone like....... ermmmm...... not Torres anyway

KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Fucking bollocks... I don't deny his abilities but be real two minutes, Falcao's played thanks to two hard working wingers who stretch the opponent and opens him the intervals into the axis. Adrian and Turan aren't expected to hit double figures but just provide Falcao, with crosses, and force the opponent to play through the axis (and allow Falcao to pick every unsure pass). Not a messiah at all, a very slight part of me expect Chelsea to sign Falcao to read/listen all the people who bashed Torres on "why does a £50m striker needs a specific animation etc..." realizing that if Falcao's a great poacher, he also needs specific service because the ball doesn't come magically onto his feet, it's put into the box whatever happens (reduce the other opportunities)We just cannot imagine Falcao scoring 20 in half a season coming in January with Mata and Hazard cutting inside and fancy a go at goal to actually score (and not make a player scoring)Falcao is very pleasant but I don't think he can be as successful in a big club he's been at Porto and especially Madrid. We cannot fall into an one-sided unidimensional animation because we can't rely on one player, it hinders what other players can do "on their own", and because Falcao isn't that all round.I mean, playing the "unidimensional way" with Drogba is possible considering he was also incredible to shoot from everywhere, on the ball, giving a dozen of assists at least each season, crossing like nobody else... Falcao scored two brilliant goals in Europa Cups finals but he's not that good on the ball, to create chances. Likes to call the ball into the wings as well, suited for fastbreakIn my opinion, an on form Torres is one of the most all round strikers we can find at the moment: can vary his movements, can finish or create chances, can ask through space or back to goal, can play short combinasons or create with a through ball etc......Anyways, Falcao will be our saviour. Beast of a Striker who can create his own goals.

Inner strength is tested when you've hit rock bottom. Some players never hit rock bottom. They do well, get better, play on top form as long their body strenghts allow that and then retire. Torres was done at age of 27, when he joined us or even half year before.
