Speaking of movement, I've said this since Torres' time here, but we still seem pretty poor at releasing the ball to the striker into space, each time he makes the run. I've noticed that with both Falcao and Costa. Too often the pass comes to them late (or in some cases not even made), by which time the opposition defender has had time to react and re-adjust his position to either intercept or put the striker off the ball. Players like Falcao will rely a lot on that quick, well timed pass. The only time that happened in this game was with that long ball over the top from Fabregas.

Think with Torres maybe could be argued for but style was changed to suit him. Benitez seemed to have the team play a lot more towards him too but yeah with Falcao, Remy and Costa I agree. Still times when Hazard although not as often as Oscar and Willian hold on to it for too long, when they could look and slip these guys in.

He was awesome for me actually. You can not give him much stick because Falcao is a player who needs chances, and we were completely outclassed by Arsenal defense today, especially 1st half. I can't remember recently seeing a player with the kind of movement Falcao has, brilliant stuff. I definitely feel more relaxed now with him around when Costa is not fit.

Some of his movement since coming here has been promising to say the least. I think he will score goals this year, just need the guys who create to start creating for him because he is pretty much a poacher, he relies on through passes and crosses aimed for him more than anything.

More hope for Falcao than Torres. He is less a risk than Torres was in my eyes although we could of got another player in because last season he was ordinary. Still his movement is top notch, he gets on the end of things like at Atletico and Porto regularly and he will stick them in.

For example, when Zouma made the cross that Oscar headed, Falcao throw himself with his head towards the ground in an instant, not caring about defenders legs or anything. It's a little detail, but it shows you Radamel lives for goals, no matter from which position. I've never seen Torres do anything similar for all his painful games here.

And compare that kind of a split second decision to Torres and how he used to run away from goal all the time.

How many times how you seen Falcao on wing against Arsenal? Not once, he was running and running at defenders non stop. Had we sent at least 3 decent crosses, he could've easily scored.

Means fuck all as well if he makes a run and isn't found/seen. The same with Costa and Remy too. To say his movement means fuck all is wrong if the pass doesn't come, if he doesn't make a run for a dangerous pass/cross ok but its not like that. His biggest strength and attributes has always been finishing and getting into goal scoring positions. Torres' was his pace and finishing before he went shite. Falcao's is his movement but since its his movement it also requires that he is being found by team mates to score goals. Not saying its an excuse but you look at him playing here so far and hes always moving.

Exactly, how many times? We needs to see Falcao bunch of times to think anything, but I stand by what I said, I feel Falcao is ready to sacrifice anything just to score a goal when he's on the pitch while Torres lacked the cojones most of the time.

He did look rusty when he recieved the ball and fell every time he had pressure on him. But he was getting in the right positions and with an extended run out he should do pretty well. I like to be optimistic.

Well he has never been someone who has created chances or excelled at dribbling in particular. If you thought he was the complete footballer, hes not, hes a typical 9, a poacher... if he gets crosses/throw balls etc like at Atletico and Porto he will score goals.

No, Falcao isn't a complete footballer but you would still expect him to do some of the basics or simple things that every striker should have right.

And I wouldn't call it overreaction. Would say it's valid for people to have doubts after his serious knee injury last year, poor performances at United and what happened with Torres.

Not every striker who suffers a huge injury is Torres though, which it seems like what you and other members seem to be thinking.

He had a poor year at United, where in theory they had a mixed year, different formations, partnerships, never had a settled team to the last 3 or 4 months etc but honestly he still looked different from the sort of guy we are seeing here. He struggled with his fitness a lot last season too, which after a year out as well doesn't help. Not making excuses as I wasn't so sure of signing him but he is a good replacement for Drogba at least and he should be given a chance, a striker is judged on goals, his movement looks promising so who knows? We start finding him and he gets matches who knows, 10 goals minimum from the bench and rotation? Good to have.
