Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
yeah essien has to go, unless he wants pure squad player like ferriera, only prob is hiss wages soo most likey has to be sent packing. romeu is a GEM, i really like his style of play and even though young, has such nice composure in midfield, think we got ourselvs a replacement of essien hahaha
Kieran. 6,317
Think he should go back to France. Though he did show that he can still do a job, e.g. the second leg vs. Napoli.
CHOULO19 24,332
He was a different player last season, I can't bare seeing him play like this and knowing what he was once capable of.
francozola 2,040
Think he should go back to France. Though he did show that he can still do a job, e.g. the second leg vs. Napoli. From what I remember he was awful in the 1st half of that game. He was getting run over by their midfielders like crazy. 2nd half onwards he got better but those first 45 minutes were really dreadful imo

Justin_3d 1,140
It was only pre-season, but wow, some small signs of the old bison back?I hope we get some return to his old self, cause with Mikel and him in the DM we are set.Not to mention that being big and strong will help us a lot giving that we have a bunch of smaller players. Bir_CFC 3,455
Hazard was great yesterday, Marin and Lukaku also did well. McEachran showed flases. All of those things I expected. But boy did Essien excite me the most yesterday. Maybe it's not the case with everyone, but I am a huge Essien fan and he really did look great yesterday. I was so happy. Just pray to God he doesn't get another injury and we have a big big surprise bonus on our hands for next season.
Justin_3d 1,140
One of the best in the second half.We are now cover in the DM with Mikel and Essien, since both where boss!
Kieran. 6,317
Yes, I have been impressed with Essien, but we shouldn't jump the gun on this one, for obvious reasons.
Rahul Haque 57
selling him is the most stupid thing ever. he's not worth much on the market because of his injury problems but he is showing signs of his old self. bossed the midfield after he came on against good players in verrati and pastore. he is the ideal partner imo to oscar in CM. he will allow oscar to dictate the play. Blue Armour 4,442
There was more purpose in our build-up play when Essien came on. RDM will do well to give him more match practice. headhunter23
jmarlow 458
I was really impressed with his 45 minute display! i dont want to get to carried away but there are some good signs that Essien could get back to being a top class midfielder again! Popular Post! CHOULO19 24,332 Posted July 23, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted July 23, 2012 I hate to sound like a heartless business man, but I think we should use these good performances by Essien to get a better price for him in the market. He's not young anymore and is still, despite these signs, a BIG gamble. He is still rated highly in the world despite his injuries, we should take advantage of that before he gets older and we have to let him go for free.
