Never mind the Copa America, one should never read too much into players' form when they play for their country...

Right otherwise let's sell hazard and buy Diego

Tardelli. Or never buy another English player...

Or conclude that Neymar is better than messi...

:)

The majority of the games are played against the worst opposition one can think of.

Even the WC group stage often pits teams against second/third grade opposition.

Not to mention motivation or lack thereof.

Did you watch Neymar yesterday?! Yes some of frustration because of good defending the rest is just lack of focus.

Brazil and Argentina historically bring their b sides to cops America and Brazil a team isn't that great to begin with.

Then there is team mechanics which may benefit certain players and styles.

Euros >>>> copa america

* originally from Brazil and have watched a lot of copa America.

I was reading Real Madrid forums and look what i found was posted yesterday:

Cuadrado is one of the best players in the world at beating guys 1 on 1. Besides Robben and Messi I can't think of anyone who is a better dribbler. Possibly Di Maria, Hazard, and Suarez, but it's close. He's got unreal pace, amazing work ethic, and usually good service into the box. The one thing he really needs to work on is shooting/finishing.
Man I'd like to have Cuadrado here, he is a great player and genuinely a good kid. His mother has done a wonderful raising him.
Willian isn't elite at beating defenders 1 on 1 though. He's fast and a good player, but he's not gonna danglefest by multiple defenders making it look like he's playing FIFA--something Cuadrado does quite often.

what these guys are smoking? :D

He needs to buff up and have faith in himself. I watched him against Brazil and he was awesome.

When playing for us players just push him away from the ball like a little kid. Makes you wonder how strong Willian and Oscar actually are when people don't do the same to them.

He can be good. If he settles here he can be forst choice RW. He has the ability.

First he has to learn how to stay on his feet or grab the ball when fouled so that the referee will have no choice but to blow the whistle

I'm sorry, that desire and workrate by Cuadrado today against Argentina was like Ramires and Willian combined! No joke, that was just unreal effort, absolutely unreal. Wasn't much effective going forward but neither were the entire Colombia team but the work he put in was astonishing. Huge respect.

From what I saw of him before he joined us I thought he might be good for us. He could be good but I think at his best he will be very similar to Willian. And I think we need more than that.

Our problem is that with the size of our small (and getting smaller) squad when we bring in what seems a good player we NEED him to be on top of his game straight away. We haven't got the luxury of a mid table team that dont realistically have a chance of winning the PL or CL. They can get away with letting a player find his feet and experiment with positions etc. We have to do all that in the short pre season and if it goes wonky then we are fucked. And thats the same problem we have with academy lads.

We have so much expectations on us that we have to but/play 'complete and ready' players.

The only way round it would be a radical long term plan where we wouldnt have a proper chance of winning anything. And just imagine the chaos and anarchy that would cause.

Didn't watch the game but I have no problem believing you. I watched previous games and he actually impressed me. Very hard working and pacy on that wing. Hopefully he settles in our squad and manages to adapt to PL and we could end up with one of the best right wingers in the league (not really a lot of them anyway ).

I haven`t seen any of Copa America but hope if he`s staying he can play alot more like you guys are saying for us. hope it`s not just a case of national pride turning him into a beast for them but then back to a timid pussy for us.
