EskWeston 696
Well the stories today are saying that Spalletti has turned us down! Nothing to really confirm if that story is true though as there are no quotes whatsoever. But it is no draggin on more and more. Are we ever going to get a new manager? And who the hell is it going to be?
DavidEU 2,023
Amazing to see only 1 vote for Hiddink.
EskWeston 696
Amazing to see only 1 vote for Hiddink. I don't think it is that suprising. I think most people would be happy with Hiddink would prefer to see others given the chance ahead of him. The big question at the moment is: are we still looking at potential managers? Or have we already decided. If we are to believe CFC, we have no approached any club for their manager, nor have we reached an agreement with any manager! So what does this mean? Who are our REAL targets? When are we going start approaching people? At the moment we are looking like a right bunch of clowns with the way this is happening. I don't think that is Necessarily the case but lack of any noise from the club does not make things better.

EskWeston 696
Just waiting for the press conference with Kenyon and Buck sitting either side of a grinning.....McClaren There are some things you should just not joke about.... THAT is one of them It is looking more and more likely going to be a Euro manager, and as Hiddink has on several occasions said no, then it looks like Scolari. Unless my conspiracy theory is right and we will appoint someone random at the weekend after season ticket renewals
Aesthetic Relic 301
Another one has snubbed us....Fiorentina manager Prandelli Steve Clarke anyone?

Fulham Broadway 17,363
As much as I would love it, It will never happen.....Why? Because it makes sense. Lol, which leads on nicely to Ken 'I'm Pretty Mental Myself' Bates comments; "I understand Abramovich went to Ancelotti to get his opinion on who the next boss should be and was furnished with two names - Frank Rijkaard and Roberto Mancini. "What does he do? He offers the job to Ancelotti himself. Either he knows what he’s doing or he doesn’t. And I know where my money lies. "In fact, the basic problem with Chelsea is that they have an owner who doesn’t know anything about football. "And he, in turn, surrounds himself with lackeys who know precious little themselves. "What do people like Bruce Buck, Peter Kenyon, and Eugene Tenenbaum really know about the game? "And that is what makes the job impossible. After the way Chelsea have treated their last three managers, why should anyone want the job?" Times

EskWeston 696
At the moment we are being absolutely mugged off by the press. With every player and manager possible now snubbing us! I really hope the club know what they are doing and get this situation sorted out as fast as possible. Because the time till pre season is getting shorter all the time. changingman2000 35
This situation is absolutely fucking pathetic. It seems that they never even bothered to sound Hughes out. Fucking shambles once again which begs the question - Just what are Kenyon and Buck doing to justify their jobs? Why dont we just "Head Hunt" the new Southampton duo and be done? Roman and his little bunch of yes men are making a mockery of us. Edited June 5, 2008 by changingman2000
Fulham Broadway 17,363
Too right. If the club are waiting for Hiddink -which I doubt -they should just say so. Shambles. Lol, good old Ken. Can't help sticking his beard in can he!!!! Is this the same Ken 'Altzeimers' Bates that sacked Gullitt and then Vialli ?
Elliott 7
This really is quite ridiculous. When we wanted Grant out, we made the assumption that the board would then be able to appoint someone better. Well, we were wrong. And now we're in a real state. We best pull someone good out of the hat soon, otherwise we'll be bloody looking back and wishing we hadn't sacked Grant! I am sure that would excite a lot of people. Rijkaard still a real possibility, would also be a very good appointment. Spalletti not completely ruled out either, Hiddink is less likely but still possible. So there are still some exciting potential managers out there. My big worry is what the delay is doing to the summer transfers, both the ins and the outs
Elliott 7
I'd be happy with Scolari for sure. I'd be happy with any of the names you've mentioned.

No need to start panicking just yet. It could be interesting that transfer roumers surrounding us have kicked off again after a understandable complete lack of any activity of any sort due to the fact we have no manager!!!
