Yes but he still not as good as what he used to be. He is average now in my opinion, we could find better, he does not make those unbelievable saves anymore strikers can get past him with half chances.

Ok ''average'' was a bit misguided and stupid of me but he has lost that aura around him that made him save the impossible during the Jose years. I know the defence was much better back then but he made some saves during that time that were just unbelievable, he no longer does that anymore. He still makes great saves but he won us a shit load of points before Hunt nearly killed him. I think as a club we have been very unlucky because Cech and Robben would of been massive players for us in terms of winning more trophies then what we have done in the last 7 seasons.

I can agree with you there, I think his confidence has certainly been shaken by the Hunt challenge and he does not quite have the same dominance of his box that he once did. I think now though he is a bit more imposing when facing penalties which is something he has worked on, he always tries to stare the kicker out which is something I know is successful through personal experience.

His distribution yesterday was especially excellent. Normally I don't notice it until my second viewing of matches but it was quite apparent yesterday. Some really great throws and kicks out to speed up our attack

Gotta agree with Badboy here. Cech is still one of the best GKs in the world, but I just don't have that feeling I had before with him on the goal before his injury

Need to work on set pieces, I don't think Cech helps though - would like to see him come and punch a few more.

We had this same set piece problem a couple of seasons back and managed to work on it, so I think a bit of work on the training ground should solve it.

We all know Cech was the most important player of the last season, we wouldn't have been that near to winning the PL. I don't think he has changed since last season. but yeah, there's this weird feeling he's not the same like he was used to before this fucking injury some years ago. But we don't know, maybe he feels even stronger since that.

I thought Cech last season was back to his best, he was incredible. I may get slated for this but i honestly believe if it was not for fucking Hunt he could have been one of the if not the best ever he really is that good.

He walked into the PL at the age of 22 and smashed every record in the book, during 05/06 he was unbelivable aswell as 04/05, he came back strong in 2007 but since Jose left he declined for a while.

2008/2009 he was having a horrible wobble, he looked really nervous which made for me the decision to sell Carlo baffiling, he started 09/10 in similar way's but there was one game that stood out for me which made me think he is well and truly back.

The Arsenal match in 2010 at The Bridge when Drogba scored twice, i thought Cech won us that match, he was commanding, caught every ball, made 2 fantastic saves from Arshavin and Fabregas i said at the time watch out ladies Petr is back and i was spot on, for the rest of that season it was like seeing the Cech of old reborn did not make one single mistake, not even a minor one, as we went on to win the double.

Last season IMO was his best season to date, time after time he saved us the matches at home to Wolves and at The Brittania prime examples IMO his two best displays in a Chelsea shirt.

How many glaring mistakes has he made for us like jaw dropping close your eyes mistakes? the only one i can think off is in the 4-4 draw with Villa when he dropped Shaun Maloney's shot.

I think the massive problem Cech had coming back was the mental barrier from personal expierence in a simlar matter at first you feel fine then later on doubts creep in like, my head if it goes again then real paranio kicks in which i think did for Cech under the Scolari reign but gradually he gets less paranoid and more fearless and eventully gets back to normal. I believe Cech has gone through the whole cycle and will only get better (again) from here on in.

He is only 29 which for a goalkeeper is nothing.

Cechs training has changed, for the better.

He now throws or kicks the ball out immediately which contributes to, and is instrumental in the new attacking style

He's getting better with age and he's so safe, gives the defence so much confidence. Every GK will and has made mistakes but a Cech mistake is very few and far between. Mr. Reliable. Has everything a GK needs, he's the perfect GK imo.

Indeed. It's because other fans are still jumping on this "not the same since his injury" bandwagon. To the point where they've written him off completely.
