I dont think we could have asked more from the lad last year. He was a great buy for the money he cost us.But Ive said it before but I dont think Mou had faith in him.

Ive never considered Mou to be sentimental in team selections but we gotta ask whether he kept picking Drogba over him because of the old pals act or if he just did not trust Remy.

OK Hes not a game changer and I could think of many strikers Id prefer before him but if I was to be asked whether Id have him or Falcao its a no contest.

What we goota ask is has Remys ego been given a boost with his higher profile hes been given? I could see him snapped up and walk into a mid level PL side and do very well for them. But did he feel that he got enough playing time last year and did he feel appreciated?

Nobody is saying you can't. It's just kinda annoying that you come into the thread to see what's new but you end up reading something that has been posted before (even worse when the same poster who does that).

Who is criticizing him? I'm just saying there's no need for repetition unless there's something new on the story.

I really really like Rémy, but Falcao is clearly better than him. Manchester United last year just didn't work, so this compiration is unfair. Let's see how Falcao will do at Chelsea, at a team that works very well.

It was so bad that Mata and Di Maria did bad.

Mata was great here and I'm sure Di Maria would have been great for us as well.

So I agree that it's hard to gauge those stats when United was a mess last season.

That statement should read falcao WAS clearly better than remy. in the same vein as van persie was better than benteke/kane. You are only as good as your last game.

Remy is younger, fitter, more reliable goal scorer over the past two seasons plus he's premier league proven and his ability to impact the game as a second choice striker isn't in question while Falaco on the other hand is struggling to regain previous form or return to top physical and mental condition (that injury really took its toll on him) . he spent majority of last season on his arse, doing his best Torres imitation (man utd can attest).

At this point in time, Remy is a safer and surer bet to succeed at Chelsea and the premier league (He already has). There's no single logical reason why anyone would pick Falcao over remy, which is what this is rapidly turning into, other than reputation which counts for little on the pitch.

Younger? Yeah, like 10 months. :)

Anyway, Falcao is a risky signing, no doubt, but we need to try it. Remy is a good player but Falcao is one of the best strikers of the last few years and we are lucky if we can loan him out to try if he still got it.

If Remy is staying then I hope Mou gives him more time than he gave him last season. He played the favorites card with Drogs too oftern.

But what a ridiculous link I just read with a LOAN to Bestikas? If we aren't going to use him then we need to cash in on him and put the money into upgrading the squad.

The only time Drogba was constantly favoured over Remy was around the Autumn time when Didier was playing well.

Irrc any time Diego was injured pre Old Trafford and December onwards and both Remy and Drogs were available the only time Drogba was choosen was at home to Schalke and at Villa Park.

Thing with Remy is he is versatile and more than a striker. He can play wide if needed, that bit of versatility is something that I bet Jose is looking at and appreciating.

Not too sure if we should brag about his qualities out wide as he didn't set the world on fire did he?

And if we was going to get a Swiss Army knife of a player wouldnt it be great if we had one more central midfield?

I'm more of getting a blade for doing their own peculiar jobs tho thats why they make so many different types.

Like an out n out striker that can find the goal without a GPS. (with healthy legs if at all possible)

Remy didn't set the world on fire (he still did alright TBF) when he played out wide last season but he is still an option for that role. If needed, Mourinho can play 2 strikers and use him at the RW without losing the team's balance in midfield.
