Bony, imo, needs to keep his head firmly on the ground and have another year with the Swans. We've seen one-season-wonder strikers every season, from your Darren Bents to Demba Ba's. Such strikers often will have a great season then jump a move far too early in their progression, unable to replicate their first season form, and wonder off to a lower league, in a lower competition.

Unfortunately it's the agents who runs these players now, so if his agent is more interested in a payday when Bony will be available.

I've seen Bony for two seasons solidly now (his last year in the Eredivisie and last season) and I can tell you that he's not a one season wonder at all. Brilliant player, very complete for a striker. He'd be a very, very good second choice option here. He's really good.

I'm sure I haven't seen him as much as you have, but from the few times I've seen of him I can see what you mean. Wanted him to sign while he was still in Vitesse as the fee would've not been excessive at that time, but we had Ba and Torres that time and signed Eto'o. Would be a great 2nd choice for sure, not sure how much Swansea values him though.

They'd value him at around £20m probably, and rightly so tbh.

His performance vs. City in the PL last season was one of the best individual striker performances of the season. He was excellent:

Is it true that Bony has a £19m release clause? I'd be all over them for that price, especially because there's no viable HG option around. Torres isn't going anywhere and with the HG situation as it is, signing Didier seems a bit pointless now.

Perhaps so. But I still feel for his career even it's better he stays at Swansea for another season, if anything it will enhance his own reputation and allow Swansea to get more money possibly. For him to move to be a second choice, if he's as good as you bill him, at this stage of his career would be a collasal mistake. That's why I make the one season wonder claim, not to doubt his talent but to bring perspective to moving too early.

Chelsea line up cut-price Remy swoop if £20m Destro move fails

CHELSEA are preparing an £8.5million back-up move for Arsenal and Tottenham target Loic Remy should they fail to land Mattia Destro as Fernando Torres' replacement.

I'd rather him than Destro, tbh.

Know what you get with him and cheap. It'd be like a Demba Ba-esque move but we'd be getting a more technically gifted and versatile striker.

Di Marzio is on it too!!!

They are already in talks with QPR for Loic Remy. Earlier in the summer, the French striker was very close to joining Liverpool, but the deal collapsed in the final stages of the negotiation. Chelsea started pursuing him, there’s a €10M release clause in his contract. Torres joins Milan, Chelsea target Remy.

Remy is the perfect back up striker. Cheap, Good Ability and has experience in the Prem. He is also a very different striker to what costa and drogba bring to the table.
