Unionjack 7,531
Remy might want to be a starter in order to get a place for next year's euro. Don't blame Jose for this.If so then why for such a small transfer fee. You cant tell me thats all hes worth surely.
Tomo 21,751
I must say if its true we sold him for 7m Euros Im shocked. The lad did everything that was asked of him last season.OK he didnt set the world on fire but Mou didnt use him enough and instead played favouritizm to Drogs. I understand he is his mate, one of our greatest ever players and his last season but we should never play fovourites with team selection. For a 3rd choice striker he sat quietly on the bench, never bitched or whined and got up and did his fuckin job. And for the money he cost us I dont think we coulda done much better. And selling him for that amounts just plain daft. Its plain as the nose on your face Mou just didnt get on with him for whatever reason which we know that means youre off.I hope we can get better than him but I got a feeling Bamfords going to come in.To expand on what I said here are the games Costa was rested/unavailable and Didier and Remy were fit and available and who started what.League Palace away RemySpurs home DrogbaCity home RemyVilla away DrogbaEverton home RemyStoke home RemyLiverpool home RemyChampions LeagueSchalke home DrogbaMarinbor home RemyLeague CupBolton home RemyDerby away DrogbaFA CupWatford home BothBradford at home BothSo it's actually 7-4 in Remys favour and all the times Drog got the nod was the period he was actually in form. If Remy wasn't unfortunate to keep getting injured at the same time as Costa the numbers would be even higher in his favour.

Henrique 9,133
So is selling Cuadrado that inconceivable for you? Is there like no chance of it happening (even though he's been linked with a move away)? Because if that was the case then I could perhaps understand your FIFA analogy but I know you're not that naive (well I hope anyway).Personally I don't rate Cuadrado too much, never wanted us to sign him and Reus has much more quality, so yes, it's not that fantasy-like to want us to sign a top quality player, available at a reasonable price and sell a player I don't rate, but each to their own I suppose. In your opinion our AMs are good enough but I think there's definitely a scope for improving that. If you're happy with us having Hazard, Willian, Oscar and Cuadrado as our best option at AM then good for you but for me, we can and should improve, especially if we want to compete with the best in Europe. If you think that's so FIFA-like then good day sir, we won't be furthering this discussion. After reading the epic battle between you and Pacquiao I'm convinced he has a point. The team just bought Cuadrado for 27m days ago, and its really FIFA-liken to just dismiss a player who arrived in the team in the middle of the season and ask for Reus because you dont "rate" Cuadrado and think Reus has "much more quality", and thats it, we just sell one and buy another.I think its also FIFA-liken to ask for another attacking player to compete with the best in Europe, since to compete with the best in Europe (I thought winning PL was enough to make Chelsea one of the best in Europe) the first thing to do is giving up 10 years old tactics, and when it comes to signing players, buying AM is the least of our concerns, as long as an average RB is playing as the LB, and a CB as RB because "they give everything" and in CM/DM we only have Fabregas who is inconsistent and Matic who is unidimensional. We need more dynamism there.About the topic, come one guys. Ramy might be a good player, he was important last season, but he is a player that can be easily replaced. Well, Pacquiao has fully contradicted himself by fully backing the potential Pedro transfer in the transfer forum, so he has voided his own argument himself. P.S., in my opinion strengthening the AM strata is just as important as finding a good CM for rotation and possibly a new defender (if Luis leaves). We actually went from Hazard, Oscar, Mata, De Bruyne, Schurrle and Willian to Hazard, Oscar, Willian & Cuadrado (the latter which I don't rate at all and I never wanted us to sign). Of course I'd prefer if we got rid of him, & given the rumours, I don't feel like it's FIFA like/unrealistic. It all depends on whether Jose & the board think the same though obviously. Special Juan 28,141
Would you be happy if we sold Remy for 10m and brought in Bamford into the squad? No, Patrick needs to be on loan again with a PL team this time, and bringing him in as third choice would be pointless. Pizy 18,918
Would you be happy if we sold Remy for 10m and brought in Bamford into the squad?Hell no. That could be disastrous. Patrick needs a lower level PL loan for a season first.Would be ridiculous to sell Remy. Especially for such paltry sums that have been thrown around. OneMoSalah 8,886
Ideally Falcao should be 3rd choice if hes going to be as bad as he was last year. Unionjack
didierforever 7,349
remy will be very useful as a 2nd/3rd striker as well as the 4th winger. so selling him for 10mil would be a disastorous transfer as we would need to buy 2 players. i am pretty sure jose is not going for a squad signing AM cos of remy and traore. CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
Ideally Falcao should be 3rd choice if hes going to be as bad as he was last year. Yeah I have to say last season 37 year old Didier still gave more (and had better return) than Falcao last year. He needs to improve much more to play in front of even Traore and I doubt Jose will let a proven striking option in Remy leave when nobody other than Costa is somebody we can rely on. termninja 5,290
I was just curious, I really like our Frenchman! I really like hope Jose will convince him to stay. If he really wants to leave he can go in January, we earn more money from transfer and we will know how good Bamford and Falcao are doing. Whiskey 173
Selling Remy without knowing what the Falcao situation will be like would be absolutley insane. I mean, if Falcao is fired up again he sure is gonna push Remy off to the bench for good, thats for sure, but imagine an injury to Costa and being stuck with a Falcao as we saw in united. It would be like having Torres back again. It would be absolute madness. iseah100 and yuvala
Bir_CFC 3,455
Don't think he's going anywhere. I think Jose considers him part of the winger rotation now too. xPetrCechx, Blue-in-me-Veins, CFC888 and 1 other
CFC888 219
I think Jose considers him part of the winger rotation now too.I hope so! I thought he showed quite a lot when he played there last season, particularly later on in the season. It would be great for him to get more games by playing on the wing when Costa/Falcao are up front.
